still our leader don’t forget about him 46 seconds and one from Total Energy and that’s Jordan Pagansa looking for the team car coming back in the team car an unusual occurrence we don’t get to see him like this in a group but he has to because there are no teammates there apart from Seikov who is doing the job he has to do which is keep the tempo flat out so that Vman don’t start to attack though doesn’t want to sit at the back here his way down the outside to put himself back at the front of the race [Music] making easy work of that as he rides up the outsides rides all the way to the front to take up position and there’s a leader for you brings a bottle for SAV and it wasn’t for him vard would have hoped that they wouldn’t have ridden this hard behind him but it’s all the tactics being played out between UAE and all the other teams that is causing this race to be so close he checks over his shoulder again the pelaton is coming 10 seconds now to this champion attack vard is caught and another attack of Vman it looks like Sekus has gone clear seikov now has to do his job again it is Sepkus who drives away from the front of the race remco aapole jumps around the outside comes up to the wheel of Yonas Wengerard there’s more splits at the back so it’s Sebacov Pagatcha Wangard Remco Aapole leap of bits johannes is there as well and here goes the attack pagatcha has decided he’s had enough of the games and he now starts to go a massive attack the tornado strikes and Venard can do nothing about it yet again Pagatcha this time out the saddle jumps away and Wengerard has to say “Nope I’ve gone into the red zone.” 7 seconds to leap of it ger checks over his shoulder it’s a long way to go to the finish line here for him in this sort of heat and look Wengerard and Leapovitz are not beaten yet one more second and now Wengerard decides now’s the time i’ve got to try and get there so Leaperitz is trying to hang on they can see Pagatcha just in front wengerard flat out going as hard as he possibly can now to try and close the gap on Pagatcha remco almost in time trial mode now the gatcher has gone into full flight you can see that the way that now he’s turning that gear over 19 seconds to Wengerard now before the start of the day it was Pagant 43 seconds ahead of Wangard 54 ahead of Leap of Right now pagant is opening up a huge advantage katcha is in sight of the finish line he can hear the commentators he can see the finish 200 meters to go well today Vizma had the numbers zenagard had cards to play but Paga doesn’t play by their rules he attacked them with 11.7 km to go and he yet again rides to the finish line alone hands in the air take a bow win number 98 for this world champion today in yellow 98 wins for Tane Pagatcha [Music] and here is Wengerard he has closed right up at the finish line that’s impressive he’s going to cross the line only 14 seconds behind he’s absolutely exhausted

  1. I think Pogi not only the best cyclist, but the best athlete in the world altogether. Simply no rival. He’s like the prime of froome, contador, Roglic combined together.

  2. Pog races like I thought I would race when I was 6 years old. I thought I would just pedal really hard and ride everyone off my wheel, every time.

  3. We used to see Pogačar spinning at a higher cadence, but now it's Jonas Vingegaard showing the same style. With shorter crank arms, Vingegaard shows a higher cadence during attacks, but appears to be missing some of his usual power. His efficiency seems reduced compared to his standard crank length.

2022 feels so far away back when Jonas could attack Tadej three times in a row and still respond to his accelerations. When he wasn’t the official team leader, he looked more free, more liberated in his riding.

  5. Saying that Tadej is the GOAT could perhaps be a bit premature but the only comparison is, of course, Eddy Mercks…and certainly he's very close. This guy is absolutely amazing! Riding up these steep climbs on the low ring and the second gear without ever getting out of the saddle while blowing away Jonas is legendary! I love watching this guy!!!

And I'll add a side note…I think that Christian Vandervelde is the best analyst on NBC that they've had…brilliant insight in a voice and presentation that's both personable and technical. What a great job!!!

  6. At this point, it’s more exciting to know who’s going to be fighting for 3rd in the Tour. It’s looking like 1st and 2nd place is already set in stone.

  7. This is what happens when one guy races at the highest level all year long, while the others only prepare for a single race — the gap just keeps getting bigger, year after year.

  8. Easier said than done, of course. I know I know. Jonas needs to train to follow Pogi when he goes nuclear; but Jonas has to do it while sitting in the saddle. A few weeks of training adjustment to accomplish that before TdF. Is it possible?
