Im considering buying this Emonda SLR. Has a crack on the paintjob at the top.
Does somebody know how dangerous something like that is, and is it fixable? Can the paint be fixed and if so, how much does something like this cost?
Thanks for all the tips and comments.

Since the carbon fibers have been exposed and it looks like some have been cut over, it definitely needs fixing which a carbon repair shop can do, in my country it would maybe be 800usd.
That looks like a repair at minimum. Do a tap test with your fingernail or a small coin.
At a quickish rate tap the coin where you think the carbon isn’t damage and listen to the sound. I should sound tight and snappy. Compromised carbon will sound dull because of separation and a difference in tension throughout the carbon in that area. (Any smart people that want to rephrase this more eloquently would be appreciated 😂). That’s just a quick and dirty way to assess it. Use it to gather info about it, and then take it to a pro. I’m guessing it’s about a $500-$600 USD repair
By looks I don’t like it. But if you need to know, tap it with a spoon far away from the crack. The sound will be somewhat resonant. Then tap over the injury and around it. If it sounds dull—aka, not resonant like other parts of the frame—then it is damaged. It would need repair.
If you are willing to take on that sort of additional expense on top of the purchase price (and you’re in the USA), look up The Carbon Doctor. He’s excellent.
Otherwise move on.
That’s the best part. You don’t know until you take it to a composite expert to do some test if there is delamination underneath.

No issue, good down to 3500 meters. Put a noise sensor on it so you get 400 milliseconds warning of failure and can jump off.
Exposed and broken fibers, as others note, are not a good sign. I’d get it for parts value if I needed parts, then see whether a pro could fix after an evaluation.
