here are the top five reasons you should get a M’s in computer science no but seriously I can’t think of a good reason to go through with this getting a master’s in computer science to get a job in software engineering is like learning how to write a unicycle so that you can ride a bicycle why not just learn to ride the bicycle first getting a master’s degree in computer science takes one extra year than getting a bachelor’s so you may ask why would I want a master’s degree in computer science is because they get a higher salary when they become a software engineer but is that actually true I got a Bachelor’s degree in computer science from venerol University in 4 years and the first year out of college I was making over $200,000 working at Facebook as a software engineer but if I had a master’s degree I would get paid $20,000 more every year but I would have had to pay $80,000 for that extra year of school in my opinion I would get a bachelor’s degree and focus on getting into the industry so you can start learning and earning as quickly as possible but let me know what you guys think in the comment section and follow me for more Tech content

Don't forget the head start you get from earning income and experience sooner. And that after 4-6 years experience, your education doesn't matter anymore
This is very true. In those 1st 4 years of work you also earn experience that commands a higher pay if you decide to change jobs.
Ohhh thank God bro I was about to say
Realistically tho get a BS network your ASS off NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK then if the job offers to pay for the masters and that path lines up w/ what you want then sure. I denied the funded masters bc I don’t wanna be a manager and thats what getting a masters aims you towards
If youre an immigrant a masters can earn you a greencard..
😢 i was gonna go do masters as well
I mean if you're a code monkey then having degree in anything that has science in its name is a total waste of time. Totally agree with you on that
The problem is the INSANE cost of studying in the USA. Here in Europe, university is very, very affordable. So getting a masters in cs here is definitely worth it.
It only makes sense if your trying to do a career switch and already have your bachelors
he made that whole short just to flex💀
I got a master's bc many ML and AI related roles require it and bc it bought me time to master those skills. However, I also went somewhere cheap (<20k)
I’m also vandy cs how did you recruit any thing special you did?
That's why I do WGU tbh. I'm currently working through their Bachelor's degree program, and the just announced a Masters as well.
One should never go into debt for either degree. I have lived by this principle and it has taken longer to get my degrees, but very worth it. I have nothing to pay off and a savings.
