Hi all!
I've started my first project! I got a really nice red Miyata 210 Mixte and I want to turn it into a fun comfortable bike.
I've already started arranging all other components but I had a few questions about the wheels and tires.
The Miyata comes with 27" wheels which I would like to replace with 700c wheels. My ultimate goal is for the ride to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible so I definitely want to use some wider tires that might also help with some occasional light offroading.
The frame doesn't seem to allow for anything above 700c 38mm according to this thread: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/1269292-1986-miyata-210-overhaul.html
It seems that I need to pick between 35mm tires with 38mm fenders or 38mm tires with no fenders.
What are your thoughts? Would the extra few millimeters impact ride quality that much? Or should go with the convenience of fenders?
Thank you so much!
