we’ve been getting used to days for the bowurs on this tour of Switzerland and with the high ground starting to loom large in everyone’s consciousness for stages four and five stage three offered up yet more of the same in certain ways and something different in another a very tough finale and so perhaps leaning more towards the GC riders than indeed the strong quickmen today but you never had to discount a breakaway and that’s precisely what we got oh stage three all the way to Heiden somebody would be in height to nothing long day as well 196 km second longest of this race playing with the valleys before the lumps and bumps started to present themselves late on and boy did they a category 2 and a category 3 test and a climb that quite frankly should have been categorized to bring us home to Hiden at the end of the day the terrain looked rough you had to be tough well the breakaway did form itself and a fine one at that with 93 km to go they had an advantage of around about 2 and a half minutes a couple up there from EF Education Easy Post quinn Simmons the American champion for lead track lance Pis from Data A2 Lemonial Pinger as well from Alps in Darnic along with Brent Van Moore from Lotto it was a fighting force to be conjured with well they were busy out there just bidding for seconds as far as the intermediate sprints are concerned tisso offering up a watch at the end of the day and it was well worth fighting for they kind of rolled with each other however but the breakdown ultimately was to come it’s getting more and more feisty out there always Quinn Simmons the American champion watching on here picking up a bonus second of no importance at all he tried so hard to win the stage on the second day well just winning some time was what the GC men were concerned about winning our hearts was Garrett Thomas yet again certainly lots of sympathy twisted his left knee and it was a long battle back for him to get reestablished within the pack in fact yet more time was to be shared by Garant Thomas it wasn’t for a lack of effort by his team meanwhile out there Max Walker first of year education to be found out samuel Batistella also part of that breakaway but really everything was getting shredded on the rises and falls that presented itself on the day still trying to fight his way back in garrett Thomas was in for a very long day and it was a long range attack as well from Quinn Simmons who basically said to everybody else “Look I’ve done most of the work out here now quite frankly I’m going to help myself.” And away he went with 20 kilometers to go well there was a stall behind in terms of the chase the pelatin couldn’t quite decide on work rate busy were picnic post and of course working for Oscar only one of the pre-day stage favorites but Quinn Simmons was riding every single one of the curbs 36 seconds with 15 km to go surely that was never going to be enough but the battles raged on and just didn’t stop ue Emirates with young Christian part of an attacking rolling series of efforts all of course to tee up Shiao really wanted to make a statement being given principal status in this race and kind of throwing it away it seemed on day one so ground for him to make up perhaps simmons still hung out there others were folding into the void and of course Little Trek were trying their level best to make sure that nothing succeeded they were busy on the blower while others looked at each other 7.9 kilometers to go and still Simmons hold a margin over the yellow jersey of 35 seconds nilson Pow then it was trying to make it an American one two he rolled off and attacked but EF Education easy post but the pace at this point was too high for anyone to be allowed off the leash well one man was busy having his fun and that was Quinn Simmons up the road would anyone else have what it took joe Blackmore was digging too deep maybe digging a hole for himself possibly teeing up Ricky Tellow but in the end Blackmore himself self neutralized this man however Quinn Simmons had belief and if you want a job doing you want it doing well do it yourself and the American Eagle just flew home brilliant was able to think about his celebrations thinking about Gino Ma of course his fallen teammate and then across the line of course Almeida and of course Oscar Odley but Quinn Simmons he’d asked the question of himself in Catalunia succeeded then and now did it as the American champion as well wonderful fabulous day yet another unexpected quarter i think our victory quinn Simmons taking ahead of Charmea oscar Onley roman Cre over coming home in fourth place ahead of Kevin Vocal still very much part proceedings the smile says it all quinn Simmons is a happy boy absolute class act confirmation of the winning margins but really it’s all about the overall and still Roman Gregoire has it all within his hands he wears the yellow jersey with a flop and for a young man he’s growing in stature every moment

  1. The people throwing shade at CK's commentary are the boring type who eat the same breakfast every day and never want to try anything else. Well maybe I don't want Rob Hatch on toast every day! Maybe some days I want a nice refreshing bowl of Carlton Kirby to wash down this action packed TdS stage!

  2. It seems at this point UAE made a gynormous mistake allowing such gaps. I am not very familiar with that Gregoire lad but I know for sure that giving 2+minutes to Ben O’Connor is not a smart move. Lets see.

Ah yes, and I love how good at cycling has Lemmy Kilmister’s son become.
