A friend just lent me his Profile design T1+ aerobars (with 40mm spacers). I mounted them in "praying mantis position": quite high, with a 15-20 deg upward angle.
I did ~100km with them and after tuning, they're totally awesome. In headwind, I regain like 5-10% of energy, and it's also a very comfortable position.
I especially appreciate the fact you can adjust the front/back position of armrests (handlebar clamps are separated of armrest support).
It also matches the advices and feedback in this great post: https://torstenfrank.wordpress.com/2017/06/13/ultradistance-cycling-aerobar-setup/ => TLDR; for bikepacking/long-distance, aerobar armrest position should match the elbows position when riding in drops.
Now I want aerobars on my bike 🙂
Unfortunately, the Profile Design T1+ seems not produced anymore, and I can't find an aerobar model where the armrests are not vertically above the handlebars.
Any clue or advice ?

Very happy with my Decathlon aero bars, couldn’t live without them anymore to be bonest. Also the cheapest on the market I’d assume!

(Dutch website, but it’s the van rysel aerobars – aluminum)
Redshift makes some with adjustable armrests, side to side and front to back. They’re also quick release which is really handy. Oh, you can add risers to them as well.Â

Apparently they have them in stock. Would defiantly call before ordering though
