Today we decided to go off the normal Wild Atlantic Way and show you the best of what the East has to offer. This is the only location we would travel to besides the west coast of Ireland because as you know by now, the West is Best.

charlene just come in now charlene where have you been two minutes make it snappy snappy anyhow folks we’re heading to Sliggo we’re going to I’m a stupid country i’m not going to Sliggo we’re going to WTO this morning that’s where we’re going outside Dublin yeah it’s another site i know again apologize for that it’s another beautiful part of the world absolutely class i’ve done it times and uh every time I do it I still like doing it so we’ll take you along for the spin and I hope you enjoy oh here she comes that was two [ __ ] minutes take your time and hurry up i was 2 minutes oh I forgot my key oh you’re a numpty boy look at where she go we have a new visor oh I love rain c yeah yeah good morning hope we’re all keeping well as you heard himself say we are heading towards the Wicklo Mountains a we bit of a detour from the Wild Atlantic where you will love it why is he not moving oh he has to turn up back now as you’ll see there on the left that’s RD Castle it’s actually the largest surviving fortified medieval uh tar house in all of Ireland it was built in like the 1400s and then in 1700s it was actually used as a prison on the way down here you are going to see these fields of big yellow flowers this is all rape seed flowers for your rape seed oil there is loads of them between here and the other side of slain it’s covered and the smell when you drive past it’s nothing like strong or anything like that but it’s absolutely beautiful so anywhere from like late April all the way through summer it is filled with these incredible yellow fields [Music] now this is Slain which is very very famously known for Slain Castle which is a concert location and you name it concerts will be played here by anyone and everyone the biggest concert that ever was held here was from Bruce Springsteen and he performed for over 100,000 people like that’s insane um and then the first person to ever play at Slane Castle was Thin Lizzy in 1981 and whenever he performed it just kickstarted this location to be the best area for concerts so the likes of Madonna Robbie Williams Queen David Bowie Red Hot Chili Peppers you name it they have played down here at Slain Castle [Music] you know you’re getting close to Dublin when you start seeing airplanes and it was pure luck i just stuck on my camera for like a second before that and I caught that plane coming in too this is the famous M50 not a lot of people like driving on this because well a lot of people just don’t know how to drive let’s face it so clearly I’m the only one who can drive properly but if you don’t like busy roads if you don’t like a lot of traffic you’re going to hate this however thankfully doesn’t take a fizz out of either my dad or myself [Music] you know shit’s about to get real when your dad tells you in your helmet right are you ready he drops the gear and disappears this is us heading up the low mountains now these roads are lethal they are so good for the bikes definitely recommend them this drive was beautiful was absolute class [Music] now this is us pulling up into Glendelock Cafe which is in Lara it’s a nice we hub a lot of bikes would stop here for a we break and when we pulled in we just started getting the bikes coming in you’ll see them i just left it on in the video and of course your man behind us was thinking “Jesus our poor set of bikes.” You just know he is look at him you okay there mate a good ride oh beautiful yeah that type of weather sure oh you can’t beat it fantastic so daddy just left his camera running the whole time but sure sat down at a wee picnic bench we were talking to a local who cycles these roads he just loves them we got ourselves a wee sandwich we got ourselves a wee cup of tea and honestly we just watched the bikes rolling past it was a lovely we stop a lovely we break and the road was all new yeah yeah yeah i know here boy jesus heat heat heat [Music] heat [Music] now all up around the Wicklo Mountains and up around the Wicklo Gap is actually the highest Irish mountain pass that has Ashefelt Road running through it so enjoy my friends enjoy we certainly did wait [Music] we’re going to go up that yeah I’ll park up there and I’m going to park on the left at least where you go okay oh that wasn’t too bad that’s where you go ah I never walked over here are you Spain you let on you’re enjoying yourself today this is us up on the Victor Mountains here now you see my drone shots do you see my drone shots it’s not going as high as I like i can’t lift it any higher no I can’t face oh the hair the [ __ ] dude the dude the dude this is mommy and daddy’s campsite this is where mommy and daddy come to get away from the children but now I know where it is so I can find you you want me to walk up there no [ __ ] mental bit of Calvin man in you yeah heat [Music] now of course if you ride a bike it’s built into you to be alert be aware all that sort of crack and this is a prime example as to why we were coming down coming around a corner and a guy decided to stop there he is there he had stopped had his tire over the white line he stopped there on a corner just to take a picture absolute bollocks don’t even get me started but anyway there’s just a we prime example as to why you need to keep on your toes [Music] on a lighter note though is this not the best road you’ve ever seen [Music] remember [Music] I went to land so long journey going up in the car and come [Music] plain vanilla creatures nach i had an ice cream van so we’re in Glendelock mhm haven’t we ice cream had stress had a stressful morning just [ __ ] stressed out had a had a cooler down a bit that tower basically was like a bank mhm and the more money they got the more sections they had restored the gold and then now we’re walking into what’s this i don’t know how do I know you have one job i can be big driving everyone up the wall you push by button i’ll tell you go on into that room in there you start come fast in you go don’t let the floor burn you you definitely need to come in confession time come on huh lake in the far side there you going to the lake where a walk you walk there’s Charlene doing her thing look at the social media all right what’s that up there that’s a wishing man no it’s not it is what you have to do what you give me the money instead of putting it in and then you can make a wish you are a gobsh i’m telling you I put the money in my pocket anyway I go to the pub i can hear you all in the comments saying Caroline how do you put up with them do you know what i don’t know magic obviously anyway we are heading ourselves up towards the it’s part of the Wikllo way it’s called Glen Melure and if you follow this road all the way just take a straight road down you’ll come to a tea junction take one left and you’ll come to Glen Meure Lodge you’ll see it all here anyway but the Wicklo way just basically is a lovely drive through just a scenic view scenic mountains it’s not part of the Wicklo Gap as I originally assumed it was it is not it’s so good that’s not the gap is it [Music] excuse [Music] me folks it is not T junction i just seen that it’s proper crossway thing but look there on the left there’s your um Glen Miller Lodge i’ve heard the food is incredible i was not allowed to eat in it because well I don’t actually know i’m going to bring that up with daddy next time I see him where is this glen glen sounds like a song doesn’t it yeah that doesn’t get food i wouldn’t know no and you’re not though you know what I mean there we go are you all right there now yes now we simply turned on our heel and we came back the exact same way we went down so we are driving back through the Wicklo again back through Glen Miller and look at that view i’m sorry that if that does nothing to you in the inside you’re dead inside it is the most beautiful refreshing view and to drive through it my god it’s even better if you get a good day if you get a good day do all the things that we’re doing all our videos are class even if I do say so myself um but anyway this is us heading this is into Lara we are going to pull up here just how to both um get a we touch of petrol but whenever we pull in on the left hand side so there’s our petrol station just there on the left just across the road there’s a place called the Wicklo Heather if you ever get a chance to go in there for something to eat do it the food is unreal and that is from experience now we’re going up to the Glen McN Waterfall it is absolutely beautiful there’s an incredible view from the top of this place i unfortunately couldn’t get it properly in my camera but lucky for you we have two so when dad turned around this corner I was able to clip onto his camera and look at that it is just incredible absolutely beautiful and these roads that we’re going to go on now go on and on and on it’s never ending there’s a girl she pulled up at the side daddy got a wave but I got a big rock on sign cuz you know what girls supporting girls you know this drive is just it’s like you’re in the middle of nowhere and you’re in the middle of nowhere forever you would not know this is here and I’m so glad that dad took me on this he’s been up here many times as he said at the start of the video I have not been up this far before ever and it is just we live in such a beautiful part of the world and we’re lucky to have it at our doorstep take advantage take use we don’t get good days often so when we do plan something and you will not be disappointed all up around this area including Glendock as well um has actually been the scene for quite a lot of uh movies and TV shows so like all up around this area Braveheart was filmed the PS I Love You the bridge they walked over is up here i’ll point it out whenever we cross it leap year Ella Enchanted Vikings has all been filmed up around here and that is the girl that came up that we passed she came up behind me and then I coped it was her i give her a big thumbs up nice nice can you imagine pulling up to a guard’s checkpoint and your father telling the guard “Be careful of that one she’s dodgy.” I telling you I wonder half the time if he even likes me i [Music] I got caught out twice going up this road with um yeah there’s one with we uh bumps on the road my suspension clearly isn’t the same as the GS this one here got me bad but of course the GS just mowed on like he didn’t feel a bloody thing this bridge is the PS I love you bridge this is the bridge they walk over in the movies there you go and this is us pulling up to somewhere class i’m not even going to tell you yet where do you see in Ireland you must obey the law by the says no entry that means don’t enter so come on down so we’ll go this way instead we’re going around the snow we’re allowed to go it’s just the tourist aren’t allowed to go just keep on going carine no but you have to there’s a house over here on the right hand side if you kick me tell me take a look in front of you oh house that was the house i don’t know if you And this is what they call the Guinness Lake is that something else or what that’s deadly huh that deadly the [ __ ] I have to listen to my [ __ ] head’s fried [ __ ] yours is fried you want to be like a mine what did your mommy get you look you got something better look it i got the same tit there’s another story about that sand or something there something about the water there’s a story about the sand the sand outside white sand and they do thousands of tons of it in around the outside of the lake so when you look at it it looks like a big pint of Guinness see if you look down there see them four baby spots i know of nothing but no binoculars they’re all deers see they’re moving they’re getting closer to us that place is full of deers those like four wee group of black dots yeah they’re deers no way i was speaking to a local up here about 3 or 4 years ago know that house I showed you mhm that was a private owned by the Guinness family right mhm any pop star who was a pop star party in that house that come from all over the world there held down there he’s been here in helicopters all the big American pop stars and all down there and the party down there all over the world he says it’s well known for it you would not know any of this is here well you wouldn’t have known anything this is here only I brought you here tell the truth go on tell the truth take off see a donkey way take off a mother baby she [ __ ] fed you she sees that she’s going to be raging [ __ ] darling cut that bit out i have to go home and meet her [ __ ] hell girl clearly I left it in oh he didn’t get a dinner for a week anyway so when my mom and myself stayed in Ashford Castle which is a very well-known castle in Ireland as well we found out that it was actually owned by the Guinness family at one stage also but I’m talking maybe 500 years ago like there’s a long time i did try and get a good view of the lake and the house for you down there but it’s quite difficult the house is nestled quite well into the bottom of the mountain down there but that lake was actually the location of a episode or so of the Vikings they were all filmed down there as well um but that whole area the lock the house and roughly 5,000 acres which is known as the Lugala estate was sold the the Guinness family sold it and I think it was to a Swiss company but now that entire region is privately owned although that does not stop anyone us included from going there and having a look everyone does it it is just a very well-known area although technically speaking you shouldn’t be at it so I’m not going to sway you either way [Music] now this is the junction where daddy tried to get me arrested we came up from the left there but instead of going that way we are going to turn right this is the start of us leaving the Wicklo Mountains we do pull into some areas just be viewpoints there’s no names for them and if there is I’ve definitely missed them but each one we pull into this was the second last one and it overlooks a beautiful lake and everything i could not find the name of it to save my life but if you get a chance stop here anyway because it’s class oh beautiful yeah when you get the weather [Music] Now we just pulled in this was the last place we stopped for we something to eat we just parked up got our sandwiches out and had a we seat in the bank now that’s close enough for you you can park close enough i’m going there helmet helmet what how would you rate it what that driver just brought me down there unreal unreal unexpected put it that way as good as you would you wouldn’t think oh I don’t know are pretty [ __ ] hot they were pretty [ __ ] hot it’s pretty charlie we’ll take another five minutes here and then we’ll we’ll hit the road okay happy yes no problem [Music] smile like a bucket of chips there now that you sign job This is the last stop before we go home and this is tricky it’s on a corner and it is not a wide entrance i knew hit my bag on that bloody hole but sure i didn’t so it’s all good but if you pull in here and just cross the road you get an incredible view of Dublin back a little bit back a little bit back oh that’s Oh holy [ __ ] dublin right home time home time again how do we get straight into Dublin it’s tricky to get out it’s tricky to get down here the sign posts are very very scarce but I have an idea where to go and then onto the M25 okay and bang down the road okay i’ll just I’ll just follow you just follow me i have accompanied all this footage with incredibly sad music because when I tell you I was not happy to go home i was not happy to go that was such a long day but I loved this drive like I’ll be doing it by myself no problem as
