Reviewing a lime rental bike in London

now to actually hire a line bik a rental pedal B is actually not that expensive for half an hour they charge you $22.99 on a ride pass and for an hour it’s $6.99 now I don’t think that’s too bad so what we’re going to do we’re going to find a land bike right now and I’m going to go through the steps on how you can actually rent one all you basically need to do download the app set up all your bank stuff in the app and then yeah it’s that simple all right so as you can see these are the L bags yeah now that one doesn’t really have much battery what about this one this one’s got a full battery so we’re going to get this one yeah so basically what you do you get an app and then you see this barcode you scan the barcode and then it unlocks it for you basically now my best advice when you’re renting one of these always check the brakes and the wheels are not flat because I’ve rented two of them and the wheels was already flat so always make sure the wheels are not flat and the brakes are working and right now we’re going to unlock it and we’re going to get riding so basically once you scan this it will come up on your phone saying start red and then you start red and then it should unlock but first they make sure that you’re not drunk or anything cuz they make you do like this test to make sure that you’re aware and your reaction speeds are good and as you can see I’ve unlocked it and now we’re riding they’re very fast as well I think they got to about 20 25 M hour now obviously I wouldn’t recommend riding a bike while you’re filming because you should be paying attention to everything but I’m a professional bik CR basically um I used to be a saing shter when I was at deliver many years ago so I’m a pretty confident cyclist in London but yeah this is basically how you get the land biks it’s that simple you literally just unlock it and you’re ready to go now the prices do vary I would say get a ride pass because the ride passes are cheaper now for half an hour on a landine back the ride pass cost you $2.99 for 60 minutes it cost you $5.99 and for an hour and 20 minutes it cost you about $10.99 now do I generally think that lbs are worth renting I would say for the price it can be a bit pricey but there’s the convenience of not having to bring the bike in your house and all of that kind of stuff where if you own your own bike you got to bring it in the house up the stairs if you live upstairs and you know this is easy simple you can unlock any back anywhere and pretty much get anywhere in London within 20 minutes half an hour on a pedal back now the only problem I would say with these BS is sometimes the brakes are not very good sometimes as I said the backs are not in the greatest shape and order this one seems all right the front brake seems a bit slack to be honest it could be a bit better but um as you can see I’m going quite fast um and it’s electric powered as well so you don’t even really need to pedal on these BS now I would say if you’re riding backs in London especially during rush hour it would be better if you was wearing a helmet obviously right now I’m not in a helmet I should be but it’s late at night now and I don’t think there’s too many people out and about in a road and stuff like that in cars so we should be all [Music] [Applause] [Music] right [Music] he but I definitely would say if you want a more cleaner way to get around London land bikes are definitely a good way forward now you’re probably wondering how I’m managing to get the camera quality so good right now I’m filming on a DJI pocket 2 gimbal camera it’s 4K resolution and it’s actually a pretty good little camera this is the first time I’ve actually took it out and about to use it and I would actually recommend this I think the quality of them are brilliant now as you can see we’re still in the back we’re in traffic right now but they’re actually very easy to use these biks they’re very comfortable and they’re actually pretty fast as well um I think the Touch Speed on them is about 20 25 mph which is actually decent and as I said it’s it’s electric assisted so it’s basically like a electric pedal B now as I said it’s down to you to be safe on these backs because as I said the brakes I’m not always the greatest on these rental biks um but yeah as you can see we’re flying along I’m not even pedaling right now I can show you I’m not even pedaling literally it’s basically an electric bike so yeah especially if you’re unfit and you haven’t really rid a bike for a long time these bikes are actually really good value for money in my opinion [Music] hey [Music] m [Music] got some old build cars there I got one of them ones as well now I think I got about half an hour left on this because I got a hour ride earlier so what we’re going to do going to park this up and then go find a shot and then find another one in a r now that’s the first time I’ve ever actually had that happen it said I can’t park the bik there so we got to find somewhere else to park it so that’s what we’re going to do right now we’re going to find a street that we can park it on because I know we can’t park it on main roads and it just wouldn’t let me park it on the payment now I’ve seen them park down the bottom here before so we should be all right but the as I said always make sure the brakes are good on these man because the front brake on this one is not good so I’m using the back brake right now and yeah we’re going to try to park it up down here as I said there’s one there so we should be able to park it down here there’s another one so yeah we should be good now that’s the back actually locked now what we’re going to do is actually give a review on the overall look of the back now the back is green and white I think it looks quite modern and they’re very very very easy to ride these so I would recommend them you even get this little basket so if you need to put things in you can put them in and check out this guy yo so yeah we will get another one um as I said I’m just looking for a shop so I can go get a drink and um but yeah that’s the lback they’re actually very easy to use and I would definitely recommend them I think the prices are not too bad considering we’re in central London I think the prices are not too bad now right now I’m filming on the DJI pocket 2 gimbal camera so let me know as well in the comments whether you think it’s good quality because I think the quality of the actual video is going to be a lot better using this compared to the iPhone I forgot to tell everyone as well I generally for got to upload the Amsterdam blog um so we’re going to actually release that for this Sunday I know it was meant to come out last Sunday but I completely forgot and there was still some editing that I needed to do so yeah that will be coming out on Sunday on um my YouTube so make sure you guys subscribe over there as well it’s going to be a lot of new content coming in the new year a lot of new music I just bought myself a piano as well so we’re going to learn how to actually play the piano and yeah man stay tuned but make sure you go sub to my YouTube because that’s where the full Vlog is going to go

A very good review.
Wow Ally G does bikes.
Good review mate. Was looking for an overview and you delivered.
Let’s say you cycle to a friends yard. Will it still be charging you money/minutes while your bike is parked up out of the lock bike bay? And do you think the monthly passes are worth it ? I’m in leeds ✌🏼💜🤷♂️
You forgot to mention that you need £10 in your account to actually use it . Good review though
Bro you said ur a Bike Pro. Always wear a helmet to protect ur head as u don't know when and what u will hit. Me helmet protected my head when l hit a pot hole😅
£5.99 an hour is more expensive than a renting a car
It’s hard to find parking
I acc don’t know how to ride a bike so I’m considering practicing on a lime bike, great video!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE REVIEW BRO❤❤
Cheers pal, gonna be renting one to learn a route in MK
Very helpful 👏🏻
Is it just me or when you turn around with a lime bike you never fall down
Actually the top speed is 15.5 miles as that the law in uk and EU
Good review but you didn’t tell us how you park it up and what you have to do on the app
I'm living in London 4 years now and I was hesitant to get on a bike, but you put me in the mood with this vid. Appreciate it.
I live in a road next to a Tube station and the abandoning of these bikes on the footpath outside our homes is like a plague has descended on us. A parking bay has recently been provided but the bikes are not left there. The app obviously directs the cyclists down our road. Are they cyclists lazy or thick? Please can the operators impose large fines on the cyclists who won’t use the parking bay.
