Want to get a bit more height and ergonomics for my wrist and back, and something a bit harder on front fork. Any recommendations or what to look for second hand (in aus though)?

Get an adjustable stem then you can try different combinations of reach and height. Not recommended for downhill mountain biking but fine for x biking.
I really like north road bars these days, [this one is on 3 if my bikes now]( https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B002OBKRGU?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title) cheap and decent quality. They’re very much a personal thing though, I got those after trying a mates bike and really liking them.
