An evening ride in Hartlepool on my Suzuki VStrom 650 from Throston Grange Lane, through the town Easington Road, Raby Road, York Road, Oxford Road, Catcote Road and finishing at Summerhill Country Park with chatty commentary with a nod to Police too.

right folks uh we are back on TGL Thruster Graange Lane That’s what this one’s called It is indeed Thrust and Graange Lane Ah lovely estate This Thrust on the right where home mates used to live And this estate on the left this is literally brand new I think came about 1995 to the year 2000 something like that start to get built round about then Yeah There we go Coming past little as well One of my favorite shops Little this indeed I I like it a bit better than Aldi Or is it Aldi Aldi Aldi I don’t know Anyway but uh down here a little I like this one I do indeed I like going um you know when they get the new stock in on a Thursday I like going then Strange isn’t it a fella look waiting out for the new stock coming and everything like that But anyway nice nice indeed It is great stuff There it is Little I’ll take you past um the army cadetses the territorial army the air cadets and indeed the ambulance station past the pub There we go for the wacky warehouse there Used to take the kids there They all grown up now Once 28 a teacher who’s 25 an accountant Unbelievable is it But the TA center there on the left Look at that Used to used to go to the Echadets 473 Squadron there when I was a kid Absolutely love that in the prefab building but they knocked that prefab building down and obviously it’s a pub car park and everything now And they operate out of the TA center there This is a good club on the left as well What we coming to here You can see that can’t you Heart Rover’s kite club Tell you what I’m going to do Going to go right check that everything’s all clear right onto Rabby Road and head uh along that way back into town Powerup Roundabout Uh named the Powlet Roundabout cuz that Powlet Road obviously Uh but that used to be called the Powlet Hotel I think Powlet Pub and uh was sold to Spa May was looking at that Jord funeral services He was looking at that as like a funeral home which would have made a good as well But it’s very very busy now There’s a spa They got a Gregs there as well Stacks of Gregs in Artipole isn’t there One two three four Used to be five Probably more Uh probably more than that now Six Yeah I think there’s about six in AR now Six Gregs sure what there is But anyway I was just reading a report about Gregs and apparently they’re going to be uh increasing the size of sausage rolls if they get so many votes They shouldn’t have shrunk them then should they Cuz that’s exactly what they did They shrunk the sausage rolls How bad are they Absolutely terrible isn’t it Shrinking the sausage rolls Anyway Dyke House School there on the left We’ve passed that already Forgot to mention it Temporary traffic lights are as we come in towards uh towards the town Are they four-way or two-way Do you know they’re probably four-way traffic lights aren’t they Do you know they’re in nuisance aren’t they Four-way traffic lights What’s that all about Sometimes you don’t even need them It’s just under health and safety and everything going on And right road towards Heart Lane traffic lights now Coming down here cemetery on the right and uh the premier That’s where you take all your parcels back to This young woman in front I think might be taking a parcel back there You never know Anyway coming into the town center area now past Milhouse Leisure Center as well down here on the left Milhouse Leisure Center on the now on the right in front of us Um you can see the fencing uh down there They’ve got a lot of fencing around it That used to be the old Audian which uh I remember my sister going as a little lad going me dad to pick me older sister up and she was watching Private Benjamin um in that uh the ordin cinema there on the uh on the right all gone now but um couple of months back four four five months ago somebody got in and set a lighter wood look at this uh look at this uh car how good is that absolutely brilliant that Yep That’s where the audience was There’s some scallywags on a on a motorcycle again You know they really are really are scumbags Really are scumbags Oh they are And I make no apologies for com scumbags either I really really don’t Quick fit on the left there Me mate owns this uh cinema uh this one It’s an old cinema bingo hall and everything that Javul he owns that one He does indeed And I think it’s like um one of these um Christian uh type food banks uh now I think it is And anyway um the movie uh was made in there and again oh I forget the name of the movie that was actually made in that one about a motorcyclist from Hartner Pole I think I featured it in the um in the one that I done along um a transporter bridge uh one Yeah Jack Door That’s what it was called Jack Door Uh the movie Look that up Jack Door It’s his uh D A W Uh that door Uh Jack Door It’s a name of a lad Her uh bike rider who um you know used to run drugs and everything like that got out of prison looking after his down syndrome uh brother and his mom passed away and his dad’s a bit of a villain and I’ve even been to see the house that’s in that movie called the red house at nunthorp I think at Middlesborough I think it’s up that way been to see that found where that was and various movie locations from Jacko as well as there is a cinema which you’ll see on that please have a look at Jack door it was done by a local movie maker as well uh born in Harleperoo lived on the headland um for his life But uh since left town and and went into making movies Oh that’s a good one The Greek retreat Going down here Oh fast food shops are down here galore There’s a um screams court too I think that’s one of them um bars where the uh bloss dress up as women Uh what do they call that Oh drag artists That’s the one Yeah drag artist Yeah in there I’m not into that sort of thing myself but many people are you know it’s a I suppose it’s a friendly thing I don’t know Titan House That used to be the old job center years and years ago Did indeed one of the flaws in there Now it’s um a mixture of social housing and uh flats you know social flats and everything like that for people But anyway Nat West Bank Barklay’s Bank is gone which was on the uh on the left now That’s gone Gibson’s furniture small independent Support them I know most of the shop owners down here as well Milg memorials me dash green wonderful person Morels’s po out of there Absolutely gorgeous They are indeed Baby’s blessings Another independent Jord funeral services been made from there Montana M I tell you what this is um there’s another restaurant down here That one um Redi restaurant that’s meant to be good meant to be very very good Tony’s Parmesan House there on the right gets quite a few good reviews that they spent a lot of money on the signs and what was Silverstar Remember me takeaways from there The burn valley we passing that we going into uh Oxford Road and um Belvoir Territory or Belleview All right Belvoir if you’re posh There you go But um Belleview if you’re not so posh The 11:00 shop Oh the new Chow Key Oh gorgeous I think I might get one of them tonight when I get in But anyway right I’m going to give you a spin up Boxy Road and then we’ll call this a day uh for this one I do Brilliant Oxford Road One of the best chippies in Artapole They’re all the best to me They are indeed Me mates have them at Sight and Caro as well and in the town And that one Fosters Fish Grill Gorgeous Wow Look at that It isn’t Oh just I’m hungry for fish and chips M That’s the thing You know my Oh I get great Remember Morgan’s tires As I mentioned about old Mr Morgan up at um Daltton Piery where me dad built a bar in his house for him Proper bar fitted in his house and everything like Dton Py Anyway Morgan’s tires there Uh top of Oxford Road past the spa which used to be Gillans and Nissa did indeed Another local company there the Borthwick Group Coming up to the top of Oxford Road Friend lives here on these hours on the right I’ve got lots of friends haven’t I She never invites me in for a cup of tea on now like that She’ll wave to me and everything like that you know She stood out the front Always gossip on the table Is she there No she not Anyway there you go Go beer I funny some cars are now people have they have them souped up and everything like that and uh they sound like they need a new exhaust and they pay a lot of money for that sort of thing don’t they You know what I mean If that’s your car in front I do apologize I’m not being rude I’m just being honest and observation You spend lots of lot of lot of money on a car I mean what’s that 58 That’s um Oh it’s 20 Is it 14y old at now Something like that Anyway look at these shops Domino’s her foods There’s a barbers there as well Barbers everywhere in Artipole aren’t there One stop The old Gillons which is a spa now along there Hey we met a teaker the caretaker of a school down here as well Mick absolutely wonderful person He’s dead dead nice He is indeed Anyway I think I’ll take you past the school and uh take you up to Summer Hill and then call it a day as we arrive at Summer Hill I will indeed see if I can fit this in There we go Kako Road Now this is called it is indeed catc court road now glass shop stacks of independent businesses in art all doing well and everything like that they work hard and graft that’s what heartian people are all about hard work a lot of graft brilliant people westy club there on the right sixth form out the back of it that’s built on six form fields obviously they bought them off them or leased them off or something like that I don’t know but Um brilliant club that one Really really is absolutely brilliant Right turning left off Katcott Road into Summer Hill All right Summer Hill Country Park where all the scallywags go and everything on a night but we’re going to have a buzz up there and then I’ll call this uh video a day Why not Some a lotments up here Me mate Julie owns this house here as well She’s absolutely wonderful A wonderful person She as well Hello Julie her husband her son sons Anyway I think one of them still lives at home I’m sure he does But anyway Julie wonderful person good friend of mine I was in the bobbies with her I was indeed And the uh local conabulary don’t you know with her all them years ago Yeah Anyway this is um Summer Hill Country Park There we go Going to go around the roundabout And that’s another
