I bought a new Checkpoint SL5 gen 3 a little under 2 months ago and after a couple of rides it started creaking a ton especially on climbs/under more power. I took it to my local Trek shop who was more than happy to take a look at it – after about a week they said they finally figured out what it was and it was ready for pick up. Today I took it out for ride and not only was it back, but I was taking a look at the isospeed and noticed what seems to be touch up paint around the outside edges of it on both sides.
For the creaking, I guess I’m just going to have to return it to the shop, but for the red touch up paint, is this normal or something I should be concerned about?
