My first job in high school was working at a local bike shop where I picked up a beautiful (but heavily used) steel Lemond Mailot Jaune (2003) that was running full Dura Ace. It was my baby for nearly 15 years until last month when it was stolen out of my apartment basement here in LA…
Figured it was time for something that could not only comfortably handle the LA roads but also lead me into the mountains and onto some dirt.
Found this Grail CFR on FB marketplace for $3800. Frame was (allegedly) never ridden and the Sram Force AXS group set had 50 some miles on it. Not a scratch or ding in sight.
The bike has been a dream. I’ve put about 200 miles on it in the last month and it’s been an incredibly fun ride. So different from my steel Lemond. Technology sure has come a long way.
