The Menton Sun Race Roc Ormea 30K promised big climbs and big views—and it absolutely delivered.
In this video, I take you along for the ride:
đŸ”„ 2,000m of elevation gain
đŸ„” 1,100m in the first 7K
đŸŒ§ïž Rain clouds chasing me from the summit
😅 And somewhere along the way
 I lost Clément
From stunning views over the French Riviera to a steep technical descent that turned into a solo mission, this race had everything: pain, beauty, community, and one very satisfying finisher medal.

Today I’m in Menton to take part in
the Roc Ormea 30 km trail race 4 km and already 600 m of elevation gain Middle of May and it’s very hot This climb is brutal! It started directly from the Start We have to do 1,000 m of elevation gain Half of the elevation gain of the whole race it’s in the first few kilometers We have to climb up there 1,161 m Holy [ __ ] Time to go down It’s good to be moving the feet a little bit more because until now, we only climbed I passed the first Aid Station at 9 km 1,300 m of elevation gain and only uh 10 km almost, and now we are climbing again The views over the Coast and over Menton are incredible Passed the second Aid Station at 17 km. For now it’s downhill So it’s all Good! Let’s go! Come on! I’m here with ClĂ©ment. Hello! We’ve been running together for the past few kilometers and we are all alone on on the trail But we are only running downhill on the uphills – We are walking 21 km Still on a downhill The sun is really hot now Still with ClĂ©ment here behind me We are trying to keep upright to not fall This downhill is brutal Very slippery, all the rocks are sliding away We can see the city again and the sea I lost ClĂ©ment! On that downhill But I will slow down a bit to see if he’s coming So he can catch up I don’t know where he is; I hope he’s all right Now it’s a good wide path that we can run on I’m not seeing ClĂ©ment behind me Hope he’s all right because we’ve been sharing quite a few kilometers together And we talked a lot; really enjoyed my run with him and hope he’s all right I gave up waiting for ClĂ©ment, I hope he’s all right I feel okay to run a little bit faster now ClĂ©ment I’m sorry… I’ve waited a little bit I’m sorry I didn’t get to be with you until the end… I hope you’re all right; And I will wait for you at the Finish The hardest part is over! Now we are just cruising back to the finish line Come on, let’s Go! Best Aid Station of the whole race! They were dancing, singing. I think they are the reason the rain is coming 4 more km and it’s all downhill so… Let’s open the legs up and start running a little bit Come on, let’s Go! I don’t want to get wet from the rain After 34 km… we are back in the Port 5 hours 43 minutes Hey! Done! Thank you! Thank you! And I’ve got a medal!

Share.
