This layer above the bead seems to be peeling on my tire. It's a fairly old Continental gatorskin, but I think has plenty of tread life left. Would you all consider this safe to ride? I've been keeping this one for indoor trainer use for the time being.

My old gatorskins always do that, I don’t think it’s structural.
Every conti tire I’ve ever had has done that. It’s frustrating but I’ve never had one fail because of it
They all do that to some degree eventually. That’s just the edge of the casing that’s folded around the bead, the structure of the tire is still fine.
I’d figure it to be counterfeit if it DIDN’T do that.
