Land’s End to John O’Groats Day 2 – Bodmin to Whitestone (Exeter)

Day 2 of my Land’s End to John o’Groats ride threw up some challenges— the Devon hills, and my first full-on bonk of the trip – hopefully the last.
I hit the wall around the 75 km mark after under-fuelling on a tough morning of climbing, and things got grim! Cold sweat, energy crash, and serious doubts.
Luckily, I found a café just in time, where a flapjack, coffee, crisps, and juice drinks brought me back!

📍 Route: Bodmin ➝ Whitestone (near Exeter)
📏 Distance: 114 km
⛰️ Climbing: 1,822m
🛠️ Lesson of the Day: Fuel early, fuel often – real food

This series follows my 13 day solo unsupported ride across the UK, carrying light gear, staying in B&Bs, and navigating the physical and mental highs and lows of the ride.

🎒 My Setup:
• Gravel bike with saddle, handlebar, top tube, and frame bags
• Filming with DJI Action 4, Insta360 GO 3S, iPhone 16 + wireless mics
