You just haven’t fully engaged your quick-link when joining your chain. Back pedal a bit until the quick-link is somewhere along the top part of the chain, and give your pedal a little stomp to make the quick-link click fully into place.
Sorry for the wording, hope it’s clear. You can also use needle nose pliers to make the quick-link work. Also, this is another thing, there’s a chance the chain is the wrong way around, there’s Shimano logos stamped into the links of the chain, on ONE side only, and that side needs to face OUT. This isn’t causing your problem, but it’s also important to get right.
