if you put a metal detector over something metal it will beep and it does this because the detector emits an electromagnetic field into the ground now this field goes right through most materials and objects beneath the dirt but when the detector hovers over a metal object it actually disrupts this field sending a signal back to the detector this signal is converted into an audible alert indicating that something metal is buried

  2. For anyone who has ever used a detector, the whole world is full of scrap metal, everywhere you go. Shotgun pellets, ring pulls, bottle tops, nails, etc etc there are false signals everywhere

    it works by a transformer that changes its inductance when metal comes close then that different freqency is compared to the resonant freqency of the coil without eny metal close the campared freqency is send to a microprocesor where it is made in to a sound
