I got a new (3 weeks old) Specialized Diverge E5 Elite (first bike ever). I have this issue where front derailer change gear once every 10-15 times I try to. I went to the specialized store where I bought it and they said it was fixed, but it started doing it again after 10 km. I am very disappointed that after spending 3k CAD on a bike I need to fix it already… Can someone help me?
Front derailer not changing gear

Ho and I forgot to mention that when it does change gear it goes to the right place.
Did the store install a new cable to the front derailleur? That would be the first thing I’d try – cables are pretty cheap to replace.
I’d just bring it back again, maybe there’s something they missed the first time. It’s also hard to tell what’s up in this video. Is there slack in the cable? What happens when pedaling? Which front derailleur/shifter combo? If it’s a 105 FD I’ve seen them set up incorrectly multiple timesĀ
It’s only supposed to move the chain when the pedals are spinning.
I cand see clearly as the video is blurry and far away but something may be split there as I’m only seeing one part of the derailer move slowly but that may be by design to prevent strain.
It’s a bad angle but is the lower end of the derailer catching on the frame.
Definitely go back again.
Is the lower portion of the derailer catching on the frame. The upper mechanism wants to move but the chain guide is static.
I would lube the hell out of the derailleur with some light bike chain oil that doesn’t get sticky after oxidation. It could also be that the cables are not moving freely. Try lubing the shifter cables and housings. Or the derailleur could be broken and needs replacement.
