Purchased and upgraded an Ozark Trail G1 Explorer for my wife. She never was comfortable on drop bar.
So today I converted it to a flat bar!
Build specs:
Ozark Trail G1 Frame small
Zukka Stem 31.8mm 50m 7* rise
Upanbike alloy handlebars. 31.8 700mm 50 rise
Ergon GA4 grips
Avid FR5 brake levers
Zoom HB100 brakes
Zoom flowing 160mm rotors
Jagwire shift and cable housing
Sram Eagle SX Crankset 38t
Powerspline bottom bracket
Sram Eagle SX shifter
Sram Eagle SX derailleur
Sram Eagle chain
Poseidon X Wheelset
EVOSid carbon gravel fork
I had the SRAM drivetrain laying around so it wasn’t that big of cost. Bike seems super solid and will be awesome for her. Ignore the saddle, I need to install her seat and adjust height.

Sweet! That’s a lot of upgrades. What did you guys think of it stock? I’m sure it’s much improved now
Sweet! I’ve got a new Niner frame that I want to build for the wife with flat bars.
What’s the weight difference?
You did an awesome job with the upgrades. I’d also prefer a 2x setup, but maybe she’ll be happier with this setup. The Ozark Trail is a decent starting point for a gravel bike.
Can I ask why you didn’t opt for the 1x flat bar set up they sell? Cool upgrades regardless
