The foot of the prosthetic leg is made with bike wheels and the leg is made from the frame.
There’s a man out in Michigan working to help anybody who needs a prosthetic leg actually get one. Yeah, and in the process he’s recycling bicycles. Bear with us here. According to the World Health Organization, only 1 in every 10 people who needs a prosthetic limb actually has access. So Ben Hogan, a licensed prophetist, has made legs from bike parts for patients who lost a leg below the knee. He says his invention is lightweight and dependable, with the foot of the leg made with bike wheels and the leg made from the frame. Bicycles already welded together to sustain human body weight, right? So all I’ve done is, is alter it in such a way that now we sustain human body weight with a different configuration. Hogan says his goal is to spread his method to other creators. He’s planning to travel to Sweden this year for an annual conference on prosthetics, where he will present his bike leg design.
