Matlock Bath Bank Holiday |Motorcycle Madness, Bike Chaos, Big Crowds in 2025
It’s Bank Holiday Easter Sunday 2025 and we’re back at Matlock Bath – and what a day it was! Join me for a full-on moto vlog packed with bikes, banter, and some classic British chaos. We captured all the action, from the sea of motorcycles lining the streets to the non-stop flow of riders rolling in from every direction.
Matlock was heaving – the busiest we’ve ever seen it – and yep, the traffic wardens were out in force, causing a bit of a stir among the biking community. In true Bank Holiday style, the atmosphere was electric, the roads were jammed, and the whole place was buzzing with energy.
If you’ve ever been to Matlock on a Bank Holiday, you’ll know what we mean – and if not, this is your front-row seat to the madness. Hit that like button, drop a comment if you were there, and don’t forget to subscribe for more biking adventures!

[Music] hi everybody and welcome back to the channel so it’s a bank holiday weekend and we’re heading into Matlock Bath in 2024 this was absolutely bonkers will it be the same in 2025 let’s go see what everybody’s riding [Music] heat we’ve got prime parking yeah okay let’s go as you can see the sun is out and that means a bikes are out this is the bank holiday Easter weekend in Mount Lath we’re going to start at the top we’ll take you for a little walk down and see what bikes are here [Music] [Music] so starting from the top we’ve got a Honda CV 1100 and as we walk down oh we’ve just spotted the uh the local plot on the other side of the road they’re starting to get their ticket machines out we’ll have to keep an eye on the uh the Himalayan 450 that we’ve rode over with today and uh right here we’ve got a Yamaha Phaser this is a 600 brings back some fantastic memories for me cuz this is a bike this was the second bike that I could afford on the insurance when you’re 22 years old didn’t like the fact only one headlight came on but there was a way to wire it up so they both did certainly some uh gleaming bikes triumph Scrambler 400X great bike rode this around the south of India and it performs very very well we’ve got a a fellow Himalayan 450 rider nice to see some dirt on the bike they have the top box yeah Amy’s just spotted the top box we don’t have one on ours and she wants me to buy one but I’m a bit reluctant they’re about [Music] £400 got a Suzuki High Booster that looks absolutely beautiful got a nice uh twin Yoshimura cans on the back the uh the BMW the new GSA and uh this is actually a bike we’re picking up next week for a uh press ride so we’re going to do a full ride and review on one of those and uh a lot of people said when they launched these bikes that they were ugly and I’ve got to say I think that’s better than the the original GSA as well it’s it’s got a bit more shape to it it is a a big bike without a shadow of a doubt 30 L tank on it i think it’s got plenty of torque with that new 1300 engine plenty of brake horsepower there’s lots of tech lots of spec i like the fact that on the crash bars they’ve got this bit they’ve put on so if you do drop it it just helps getting the bike back up again just next door to that we’ve got this uh the Kawazaki 900 love to see the classic bikes is this your one here no this one yeah it’s nice that is Go on then tell me how how long does it take to polish your bike up like this i mean it’s absolutely gleaming yeah I know but it’s um I just like to keep on top of them you know you know what I mean is it a daily thing when every time you ride no not always i mean I I’m not anal about it but sometimes especially Harley’s especially around the brackets and that they do rust you have to be keep an eye on yeah yeah we got another Harley-Davidson over here and like you say when the sun’s out the bikes are out and like that guy was saying you got to put a bit of time in for the cleaning sounds absolutely beautiful everybody’s on the uh everybody’s on the fish and chips already and I am absolutely starving supposed to be on a diet the Honda Dax with Rob and um he’s pulled up on his his Dax 125 sausage a sausage a sausage a sausage Dax where’d you buy this bike uh I don’t know really it just sw a bit small swing light of my super tenerate uh got fed up of the weight got fed up of uh bad backs bad hands with the clutch then got the clutch and how far you traveled on it today uh all of 26 miles yeah i mean the for that we were just saying about like you know we we kind of like come away from the bigger bike scene weren’t we and to jump on like the smaller bikes it’s just I think it’s more fun don’t you it’s just Yeah one day I used to go upwards I built it up to the 1200 like I say with the super tener and then uh you’ve done that you you got the t-shirt you’ve been to France you’re getting older you don’t react the same you pull you back when you’re lifting it up it’s no ding like we’re talking about and we’re just saying like the you know when you drop them and you will drop them if you if you do the adventure stuff you know unfortunately and there’s such heavy bikes when you’ve got the luggage on and things like that and you know I was just saying to Rob here that I pulled my shoulder out picking my mold to dry up so but to pick the Himalayan up you know they’re they’re still not super light but you know they’re they’re a lot more manageable and I think that’s the key but yeah they’re the differences yeah i mean look at that you could just spin it around on a dial are these kind of still like the 15 brake horsepower that type of thing you know no no no no it’s 10 at most right i think it’s nine actually you’re not going to get a speed you do that uphills and stuff like that but it’s No it’s a great bike cheers Rob yeah you’re welcome mate thanks buddy yeah cheers i think here’s one of the original Honda Fireblades CBR i think again these are the the 900cc bikes on a Y plate looks in fantastic condition very well cared for still a great bike to today just trying to keep an eye out for the traffic warnings i don’t think they’ve taken on them yet have they they didn’t take anybody so they walked down the other side an M09 SP great bike they bought out a new version of this one as well love the SP here’s an absolute animal of a bike love the Norton this is the uh the V4 Cafe Racer when these came out I was absolutely blown away with them and uh I’m going to try and get a test ride on one of these with with Norton i do believe uh you can get a ride on them now whereas I think before they were just kind of special order lovely looking bike especially with the orange seat [Music] [Applause] come on mom get your leg over oh yeah we’ve got a couple of uh beautiful classic bikes here look the RD 350 Yamaha and uh we’ve also got the Kawazaki 750 triple aka the Widow Maker see back in the day single [Music] disc big engine for that era i mean we’re talking I think uh 70s again really nice condition by 14,293 miles on the clock more bikes leave more arrive seems to be a reasonable amount of parking today for the bank holiday weekend when we was here last year there was bikes all pulling up on the side here but the traffic wardens were moving everybody on and over here we’ve got one of the new BSAs this is a bike that we uh and I’ve got to say I really did enjoy the bike it was um they kind of got slated a little bit but uh no actually it was a I think Amy enjoyed that one we like that one didn’t we yes where we went to feed the llamas surprisingly like I didn’t expect to like it yeah it’s it’s a it’s a bike that’s got bags of character to it and again a price point the great bikes great for a nice sunny ride out like today wow look at this i think like off Mad Max has just turned up [Music] got a another higher booster so this is one of the original ones the GSX 1300 so this is a 2010 bike so you can see how much they’ve changed on the the styling from the the new ones that we just saw uh back up there but yeah another timeless bike really an absolute animal got the mighty Rocket Rocket 3 GT again I’ve uh I’ve not ridden the the GT version i’ve been on the R version and uh yeah an absolute beautiful bike you know when they first bought these bikes out you thought who would be buying these things and they they’ve just sold for the last 20 years they’ve probably been out and they’re still a great bike right again do a lot of money so as we look down the street here we’ve got a lot of these arcades and I’ve always said it’s kind of like the seaside town that’s the furthest from the sea we’ve got ice cream shops plenty of chip shops i wonder which is the the best chip shop maybe we should ask somebody the Costa one where we we generally park seems to be an all-time favorite we might get some chips ourselves from a bit later on as always diet starts tomorrow [Music] oh no we’ve got a bike down it’s the uh Yamaha Tennere they’re all right that’s the main [Music] thing oh look the little Benelli this is the uh the TNT125 super cute bike yeah I want another one do you mean no no more yeah I do miss the uh the Street Fighter V4S I had i had the uh the titanium arrow cans on it and uh I must admit they gave me a headache in the end there was so much noise coming up from underneath the bike that I ended up swapping them back to the standard which I think is still got a nice roar to him what’s this i don’t think I’ve ever seen it’s a 125 it’s got Meg on the the bike it’s obviously an old one I’m guessing um I don’t know i can’t tell from the number plate but we even got a That’s a Kawazaki Omega 1965 only made for 2 years it was only made for 2 years so yeah super rare bike it’s nice the fact that the uh the guys actually put some information there because uh like I said I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those but yeah great to see him on the road still honda VFR again really nice condition some of these bikes kind of sort of mileage done 22,000 and this is um on a P Ridge what was a Pidge was a P like 1997 or something like that can’t remember yeah it’s very little miles for the age of the bike so we’ve uh got one of the earlier editions of the Honda Africa Twin cuz they I think they they changed them to 1100 uh cc this is a,000 uh I had one back in 2017 i believe this is a 2018 model might be the the kind of the sport version noticed it has got a gear shifter there whereas they also did this in the uh the DCT which I personally preferred makes riding these big uh heavy bikes seamless and even the early version Honda got onto this DCT stuff uh back in 2017 I believe and uh they absolutely nailed it and I think now they’re on the their third generation of that that system right tip of the day gentleman down there just said to me “If you cover your number plate with something apparently the street wardens can’t remove it.” So you’re kind of hiding the plate so you don’t get a ticket because I believe here you only get an hour’s parking is that right yeah an hour and no return within 2 [Music] hours oh it’s getting busy now they’re fighting for space so yeah as more bikes coming you know they’re starting to park up on this uh edge of the path and there’s a couple of rules about this one so uh uh yeah no no doubt the street wardens are straight on them i think they’re being nice and friendly telling people that they they can’t uh can’t park here but are the traffic wardens giving any grief yet are you all right everybody else put jackets on here they can’t touch you know what somebody was just telling me that and I didn’t is that does that work you can’t touch it you’re not allowed to touch it well there you go tip of the day so yeah cover the number plate up are you all right last time down here last time well there you go opposite ped tip of the day what you come on today kawazaki yeah nice your legs are So yeah just talking to them guys back there and they’ve just confirmed it but you know I might just ask one of the street warders just to confirm it cuz I didn’t know that did you know that was a rule i have read that online before but I wasn’t sure if it was definitely a thing right well I think what we find on this particular bit here um is is where the divide is from the council and the private land so we turn the camera around we’ve got this chip shop over here and I believe they earn they own a certain amount of the land here as well and there is a bit of a a bit of a divide and you can you can see where the uh the pavement changes and I believe this section of the road is owned by the chip shop and um so you can park your bike there but then we’ve got these bikes parked down here which you know if the traffic warden turns up I think he will start you know asking them to move or putting tickets on the Look we’ve got a we’ve got a pink one yeah jucati uh 796 again it looks like it’s uh had a bit of a custom job on it it’s got these twin pipes coming out the back that would sound absolutely ferocious I think when they fire that one up but we do like the Jucatis [Music] oh we’ve got another bike down oh we’ve got another bike down that’s the second one gone down today I think uh trying to turn in the road a bit hasty doesn’t always work but he’s uh he’s all right it happens i think more of it is just the uh embarrassment when it does happen but I mean you’ve never dropped your bike have you so when Amy does it she breaks her wrist the instructor’s back oh yeah so yeah we couldn’t resist keep walking past all these chippies and you’ve just got to go for it so yeah I’ve gone for like a fish cake chips and peas yeah all the bikers are trying to squeeze in now it’s getting busy now the sun’s come out this guy’s been on the the Easter egg run I think your leg run mate every year yeah it’s a good one 800 this morning all right okay which is a good we dropped in Theo’s egg run 1,300 quid oh nice well done when did you do that last a week at work there’s only about 400 of the staff at work so they’ve done brilliant they do every year but it’s uh it’s good unfortunately this morning we’re on way I don’t know if it’s true we come to a standstill which we don’t normally do for about 10 minutes rumor has it one of bikers has had an heart attack oh no yeah so we have to wait for ambulance right well hope he’s okay and yeah if if he’s right I hope he’s all right other than that well he raises money for him doesn’t he yeah well hope he’s okay buddy and who’s this fella that was my daughter’s oh yeah you This is what happens you see it’s a bear bike it gets a bit addictive yeah it’s the bear bike ever yeah that’s great great well done buddy keep it up keep up the good work yeah you do find you know cuz this is the the Easter bank holiday there’s a lot of kind of like Easter egg runs going off and stuff like that all for good causes so it’s always nice to see guys like that that are contributing to the [Applause] [Music] charities just looking at this uh 107 Harley-Davidson just seen a new one head down there as well and that’s next to this uh this CCM and this is the uh the Scrambler and normally they just make a so many of these out of 250 this isund 119 out of 250 i nearly bought one of these didn’t I i kept saying “Shall I get one shall I get one?” Never did for the living room worst thing to do you only bite to ride [Music] really got this guy here just fired up his street fighter sounds nice buddy jesus Christ that is so [Music] loud well you can certainly hear him coming what’s the cam’s on here buddy pro race yeah yeah nice are they expensive to have uh have them made up or I bought it like more the bathrooms out it isn’t a little bit too loud how nice is it now beautiful i mean they get about what 13 14° today but that sun comes out and it’s just beautiful just brings everybody out yeah it feels warmer than 14° [Music] even the beast bikes are out so it was interesting last year when we was here and we put the video out which did really well as well and uh the kind of everybody or there was a lot of comments um from locals saying just avoid the place why would you want to go to Matalog on a bank holiday weekend it’s a fantastic atmosphere and why would you not want to come here it’s a free bike meet like I say it is a bit chaotic but if you’re on the motorcycle you can get through no problems we got the Honda CRF300L ity boots fan although she don’t ride these anymore does she she’s gone old school again so right I’ve lost Amy B somebody just said she’s gone in here [Music] oh the spider what are you doing in here we’re supposed to be looking at motorbikes i’m winning [Music] have you won anything no winners yay was that enough for an ice cream got 8k [Music] come on out of there we haven’t got time for this we need to be looking at all the motorbikes oh we’ve got an absolute gleaming Royal Enfield Interceptor here as well the [Music] 650 so yeah you can see now as the as the day goes on there’s more bikes coming down the main road here and uh randomly we’ve got a a lady here selling bonsai trees i’m not sure where he’s appeared from but um do we need a bonsai tree we’re not very good with fun no anything that uh it’ll be dead in a week there’s no traffic ward in sight to be fair so uh I think uh they’ve given themselves a day off they were they were up the top when we first got here and and then they’ve kind of disappeared i think uh I mean like like always with uh with these situations you kind of by tomorrow there’ll be probably nobody here because again the weather’s going to change so um I know a lot of people complain about the bikers taking over but at the end of the day like I said they’re bringing a lot of revenue got the policeman here how you doing all right and we went So do the police predominantly use these these uh these bikes or is there a Yeah general duties um the Met use slightly different bike but more normal your normal forces they use the RTS so they’re pretty much a custom bike use and is this is this kind of like your personal bike or do you do you have to share share it with other officers tried this one all the time yeah you get to know the feel if anything like that really and to be fair whether you you kind of you ride them all the time you look after them a little bit better so you know all the ins and outs all right well thank you for your time and uh I’ll let you finish your chips yeah no problem thank you buddy take care see you later cheers let’s just check out this Honda here cb 10000R it’s got a nice paint job on it some gold wheels [Music] quite a bit of carbon covering looks like it’s uh it’s got some trick bits on [Music] it and uh here’s a here’s a bike that we uh we had on uh on loan from Triumph over over the Christmas period it’s the Rally Tiger Pro 900 i’ve got to say I’ve not ruled out this bike you know I was saying I’m going to change my bike this year and um or buy an extra bike should I say the Tenner uh 700 was looking favorite alongside the KTM 890 Adventure R but comfortwise this would probably be a good choice for for for me and Amy uh and this bike comes with all the bells and whistles as the Rally Pro does it’s got the 21in front wheel and uh so it’s got it off-road capabilities i mean you can’t say fairer than that can you got fish chips and a choice of mushy peas beans curry sauce or gravy for £750 an absolute bargain are you hungry again i’m just showing people the prices it seems to be quite quite standard we got the Route 66 we’ve got the Costa Fish Bar we got the the Prominard fish bar there we’ve just got three in a row but they all seem to be uh the same sort of prices which I think is excellent value for money we’ve got a nice pair of uh Yamaha Ri 350s here as well beautiful condition yeah we’re getting busy now guys we are getting busy a few nice cars keep roaring past as well seen a Lambo and Audi R8 [Music] god about to chuck the camera in the air then that’s just bonkers how loud was that the policeman nearly dropped his the policeman nearly chucked his chips in the air i mean these uh these Triumph Commanders look an absolute massive bike but again beautiful bike to ride on a day like today wanted by the vehicle drivers like he’s nice in the arch is what he is hello Hector hello Hector he’s massive look at the size of him what breed is it he’s a Russian black terrier wow i don’t think I’ve ever seen one of them you don’t see many of that no he’s Is he fully grown i mean look at him 15 months finished growing about three and a half years he’s lovely he’s like a big rug oh yeah yeah yeah yeah he’s lovely what a what a great dog thank you cheers buddy the car over there has just kind of literally bumped the number plate on the bike clearly not watching where they’re going getting a bit too close but today’s been an interesting one we’ve had we’ve had two offs well a car just bumped the back of the bike but nobody’s hurt that’s the main thing so I hope you’ve enjoyed our little walk through Matt Law Bath on the bank holiday weekend it’s been absolutely bonkers with bikes once again in 2025 and don’t forget if you ain’t subscribed to the channel please do so give us a like and we’ll see you in the next one [Music]

Small bikes are much more fun! That BMW GS is the ugliest bike I've seen. P reg is 1976. Take care, ride safe.
Great video and to see the police officer being laid back enough to get his dinner amongst the bikers and willing to interact with yourself 👍
I wonder what the day trippers think of all of this rumble Simon…?
I love the Derbyshire vibe. You mentioned potentially fitting a top box to the Himalyan? I have two Givi boxes for sale, a 47L & 56L, both have been fitted with a pillion pad and brake light. BTW that 'blade wasn't the 900cc original, it was a post 2000 model. Great vid😊
More FREE PARKING, at least 2 hours (Motorcycles and cars) at Matlock.
Too many people, why are most motorcyclists' very anti establishment? can you imagine the chaos without some form of order.
Regarding covering your number plate, its an urban myth. any motorised vehicle must display a registration plate.
It looks fairly quiet for a bank holiday
Yes, a traffic warden in London can remove a motorbike cover to identify the vehicle and check for parking violations, as long as they do so without causing damage. While there's no specific law permitting or prohibiting cover removal, wardens have the right to take reasonable steps to verify vehicle identity when they suspect a traffic law is being broken.
Looks like a great turnout. I might have to visit over summer. I was an Hunstanton again on Sunday, my more local destination.
that drone use is surely illegal?
Some serious work has gone into the pair of LCs. Upsidedown forks, banana swingarm, rearsets, etc etc. Very nice. Great vid, thanks.
Get a top box so your girlfriend has something to lean on. Amazon has them for a very reasonable price. She will think you are special if you do!!
Just Googled and came across this…………
Yes, a traffic warden can remove a cover to view a number plate if they believe the vehicle is violating traffic regulations. While there isn't specific legislation explicitly allowing this, it is an offense to obscure a registration plate, and parking attendants have a legitimate interest in determining vehicle details if they suspect a violation. The key is that they should not cause damage without reasonable excuse.
Elaboration:
No Specific Law:
There's no law explicitly saying a traffic warden can or cannot remove covers, but there's also no law preventing them from doing so.
Just a bit jealous that you have a partner actually interested in bikes😊
Brilliant vid nice to see all the lovely big bikes and nice to see the 125cc will have to ride down from Leicester myself on my little Yamaha ybr custom 125 sometime looks an amazing day thanks for sharing ya day 👍🏼
Those bikes look beautiful, I've just recently had a low speed high impact crash on my z900 bike's gone my right arm is still broken after 10 weeks, yer get older it takes longer to heal. Take care you 2 👍
I went to Matlock and I forgot to put my tax disc in my holder, police officer was writing a ticket out and I saw him from the pool table in the pub and ran over to show him the disc in my pocket. Must have been about thirty years ago.
I think that is to do with bike cover’s apparently legally there not allowed to lift a bike cover.
That said if doing this just make sure the bike has cooled down somewhat as to not melt the cover on the exhaust or something 👍
Great place so many bikes
Used to be my local haunt years ago. Live a few miles down the road
