This was an impromptu ride out to the coast of Essex and what we found was a Martello Tower some Essex history going back to the Napoleonic wars and 7th Century and some lovely riding roads…enjoy the content.

out for a little Easter ride um taking the two triumphs out with this as you can see the weather’s really good so that’s the idea so what we’re going to do before we go out we’re doing a little bit of a test and putting some uh covers on the seats and paniers and paniers oh yeah as just reminded me and paniers so we’re on a excuse my froggy throat I’m just getting over a bit of a cold so um as you can see I put a mesh on the rear but unfortunately I can’t get one for the front seat now um I have looked time why there are stuff on eBay but I’ve bought a couple they don’t fit because of this curve so if there’s anyone out there are making stuff or thinking of making one of these for that let me know put your comments and then uh see where I can get it from um so that’s the idea and uh we’ve got all sorts of little seats we bought over our travels this one’s a reindeer seat but that’s not what we’re taking we’re taking the sheep skin so that’s what we’re planning before we go out and then we’re going to ride out to a where are we going brightling sea the east of Essex Aviation Museum east of Essex Aviation Museum in brightling Sea so that’s where we’re off to today so um let’s try and fit these and then uh see how it goes okay right so we’ve already done one we’ve done and we did a test test runs back first back first let’s put that down there unfortunately with this one I haven’t got the heated seat that’s not plugged in that’s not a major issue there you go where did we buy these I can’t remember I got them on um Amazon I think just an Amazon purchase okay but they are genuine sheep skin sorry for those vegans that are out there there you go if they are then they’re artificial right um so the idea of these really is just to hold them in place because when you stand up um you don’t want the thing I want just tighten that up a little yeah it might be right slightly bigger this one I think okay and we got these uh off of Amazon I think weren’t they yeah little extension actually for holding down um fitted sheets all right there you go okay that that’s what it looks like one working this back super so that should work now what’s the idea of sheep skin well the uh they use uh sheep skin actually for putting uh babies on in Australia cuz it keeps them cool believe it or not in the summer and warm in the win summer yeah so warm in the winter cool in the summer so and uh they are nice to sit on so they good right good pan is now pan is okay so now we’re going to fit piers on onto an’s bike I haven’t got PES for our tour I’m using my um soft luggage which goes over the back and uh I’ve got some uh Moto MOS yeah Moscow Moto um which I’ve had for years so they’re going with us but this one we decided to get a uh frame and um Tiger’s just come back oh right yeah next door’s tiger yeah he’s all the way from uh Saudi Arabia apparently yeah yeah look that right and um as you can see uh we’re going to fit those onto here now and this is a Shad soft luggage system uh which is the Shad 40 TI um good news about this particular system I’ll come around here is that um they lock on you can see the lock once they’re on dead easy and easy and then you close that fly that’s it close and then you just turn the key it locks there you go fully locked onto the bike and then not only that get it right new so then that then goes in there oh there you go so um there’s always a problem with soft luggage and you someone could come along with a knife and just rip it open but uh if they want and dirty underwear that’s fine absolutely they’re welcome to they’re welcome to it um but we just thought soft luggage would be a better option and this is what 40 L isn’t it yes 40 l so was fair enough and then something like that with a bag on top as you can imagine you’ve got the two and that and a top box which is more than enough really and then you time that by two and uh got camp so no that’s right we have plenty of room for clothes not to have to do any washing absolutely right so we don’t like washing let’s get out on the road so now it’s uh setting off on the ride uh and heading out usual way letting us go that’s good yeah difficult to know what to wear today cuz the uh I started off with the long sleeve and then I was working outside the first bit of the video and I thought you know what going to have to put a t-shirt on cuz the uh the weather is quite nice lots of people out today walking jogging that Easter weekend break that everyone’s been looking forward to it and it’s nicer the weather’s good nothing worse is it having a long weekend and the weather is crap but uh so no very good today so we we get out make most of it um rest of the weekend we’ve got friends and family coming over so uh this is our little Jaun you could probably notice from the video I’ve got like a leather jacket on and and a little gilay and uh there’s a funny story with that one I don’t often wear it um and it’s probably um the only one in existence um some time ago I bought um a uh Bell staff jacket which is a I think I called it the long way down series and uh cost me quite a lot of money actually if you go online you’ll see how much they are and uh I had a little bit of a tumble anyway nothing serious but I did Rip the uh sleeves on the jacket did its job that’s why you buy a nice kit saves you anyway took it into uh London to the Bell staff shop because Bell staff apparently say they come repair anything and the quote they gave me was something like £380 uh and the jacket I think was about know 700 I can’t remember I’ll have a look online see how much it was um so I thought you know what I can’t be doing with that but I didn’t want to throw it away so I said can you Taylor take the s off and turn it into a g and just says and he went yes for £180 so I have a probably the only one in existence but there you go I don’t wear it often but it’s just ideal for this sort of weather cuz you can put it over the top keeps your your main trunk warm and then uh just this time of year so there you go that’s my style tip for the day so we’re doing our normal head out of fii and uh probably heading towards the a12 and running down towards cester so I shall speak to you soon so we just turned off the a120 and heading towards brightling sea and oth I think that’s how it’s pronounced uh it’s gone a bit cloudy which is a shame cuz that uh we set off in bright Sunshine but apparently according to weather it will be back around about 2:00 I can see it’s a little bit brighter as we get towards the coast but the good news is the roads are dry as well which is really nice it’s coming into great bent so this is our first time out to this part of uh S6 so quite looking forward to having a look around and then uh just a little trip down to the coast doesn’t actually take us that long from where we are to the coast I suppose our shortest joint is the south end and that’s 20 25 minutes 30 minutes so uh but then they always say you’re never more than about 72 miles from the coast think even if you’re smack in the middle of the UK you head in either direction you about 72 miles or something like that it’s one of these weirded facts about uh United Kingdom which looks very pleasant wheelie Road I won’t be doing any wheelies on this road wheelie Road isn’t it that looks like a very old church over there s ois prior there you go I wasn’t wrong it is a very old medieval Church with a bit of a cricket green ball looks of it in the middle yeah they are getting that Wicket ready for summer Bentley Cricket Club there you go great Bentley Cricket Club and a pub nearby what what more could you ask for on a Sunday watch a bit of cricket and then have lunch in the pub wow yep that uh I might I put that in the diary looks quite I’m quite liking great Bentley yeah wonder where I wonder where the trains go to Great Bentley then oh petrol lights come on hopefully there’s a petrol station no in brightling in brightling see now I’ve got plenty of uh plenty of mileage got another 50 miles yet so yeah we an and I’ve noticed with the um the Triumph Tigers you get this massive you suddenly get a a hazard warning light light telling you this Fu on the right light telling you need fuel up of that then it says F fuel low and everything goes orange and it’s like du get some fuel hurry up hurry up I’m drying out I’m drying out no it’s not really that bad thanks TR for letting me know I’m low on [Music] fuel [Music] okay where to now don’t know up here yeah no sign sign posts to uh the museum is such we are running out of Road that’s Aladdin’s indoor market uh okay East prenard con way I think don’t know so ultimate yeah very strange to rough Old Road here look this wow okay y there uh yeah looks like a little bit of a beach on there no overnight camping that’s it just uh right so there is uh foot ferry boat launch Free Pub Cal uh King Fish and then runs out so I don’t know well no sign of any Aviation Museum maybe we shall uh do a bit of research I think try up there no no no entry anyway all right well let’s go that way see what’s down there yeah there’s a there a sign post up here let’s have a look uh okay way out is right left is boat fairy boat in boat launch Apple Tree [Music] Court no let’s go left okay we’re going to check so we finally found it it’s a Montell Tower and uh as you can see they were built on the south and east coast during the ponic wars to defend the coastline so this one goes back to 1812 um amazing so they’ve turned it into uh an S6 Aviation and Society uh the town’s dedicated to the memory of Raymond E King pilot from the four seven nights United States Air Force there you go and sadly it’s only opened Sunday so we got that wrong only opened on a Sunday it’s a shame never mind a picture of K no not where’s that just down the where are used to be like a gun line okay gun line you still see part of it there’s a cannon buried in the garden sticking all right okay excellent yeah they were apparently built ponic Wars something was by 1805 all right apparently were cop from something [Music] in K all right Navy tried to go somewhere in beat off by this gun folk so they thought that was a good design so we cut it why not if it works yeah there them long no I mean we well we saw it was a museum but unfortunately it’s not happen on a Sunday I mean there guns on the roof when you can get in there and he’s red in there full of stuff yeah yeah he just full of the g g all right we’ll have a walk along thanks on it walk along and uh there’s even a Mustang in there that the pilot ditched it out there all right and they like sh the wck out and they got it in there do you live do you live down there or you just all right yeah unusual it’s bit of a treasure of uh the coastline this isn’t it yeah it’s interesting cuz apparent this was N8 gun F originally all right and I’ve never seen them but there supposed to be two fish traps just off of here that are ancient you see put like w things that’s it put a basket on when the ti went it’s full of fish yeah yeah Cannon sticking out all right that’s the old gun bolt actually the part of the old gun line the old brick wall all right yeah yeah cuz that is an old wall the oldest bit of History you can just about see it see where the wind turbines are yeah just s to the right there’s a lot of Gap and you can see like a block in there yeah that’s the oldest Church in Britain oh wow St Peters 600 and something ad it was built W cuz it there’s it’s built out the stones there was a Roman fault there all right and it’s built out the stones of a Roman fault amazing isn’t it yeah who knew this was here I know what a little gem thank you so much thank you see you walk along the uh yeah yeah St O’s o yeah quite amazing it it’s a nice uh nice houses along here but living by the coast it’s one of those things isn’t it where it can be um glorious in the summer awful in the winter yeah when it howling winds coming across yeah these look all very nice don’t they holid homes like anything else they [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] he [Music] [Music] okay so that was uh our little stoping Cent office o some o I don’t know I can’t I I can’t pronounce it oif it’s yeah o oi too many THS in it now we’ve got to do is find a uh uh got to find a pitol station so let’s have a look anything on the SAT lab no okay yes so this is um at the end of the road is just a little Caravan Park well I say Caravan Park it’s more just sort of a holiday home park it’s quite interesting though back and Beyond the good news is the uh Sun’s come out again it did did say it was going to come out at 2:00 so that’s good a nice place for the kids though r around in their bikes and their scooters without um any major dramas there’s not a lot down here we did have a very nice lunch though bacon sandwich and a uh what did you have I had bacon sandwich and you had the scrambled egg scrambled eggs on toast that’s it there you go all all two cups of tea two Mills all under a tener can’t be bad okay so uh We’ve uh done all the back doubles from Moren heading back towards hanningfield and stock Road the weather’s been great today uh the road’s nice and dry so that makes whole riding experience very pleasant so hopefully we’ll be able to get out a couple more times before we uh we get away in June on our big European tour I’ll uh still try and find some interesting places in the local and uh around s6w I’m trying to do that historical theme so if I find something of interest to head out to and then do some uh research on it churches are always the best source of uh history aren’t they we’ve got plenty of them around in Essex really uh quite uh full
