I’m trying to organize my house and got one of those front-wheel hanging racks you put in the wall. It’s been great. Until this morning when I noticed my tires being squashed by the weight of the bike.

I’m not concerned about the tires being deflated; these tubes are pretty old and I inflate them pretty much every time I take the bike out. My concern is, is this bad for the tires, if it stays like this for a longer duration? (Like, over the winter?) Bad for the wheels? Should I get rid of this rack?

Thanks!

  1. The tube might suffer from prolonged pressure i’d guess. the wheel should otherwise remain fine. just a single simple hook with a rubber coating screwed in the ceiling to hang your bike on by the wheel would be better imo

  2. I don’t think you need to worry about it, but, if you want piece of mind, make/add something to distribute the pressure better than a single post.
