Hi all – recently got these for cycling. I noticed many of the sunglasses have a “bar” going across the top of the sunglasses, and this one is open. Was wondering if there is any functionality in that bar and how much of a difference does it make.
These fit my face perfectly and are super light/good, so wanted to keep them, but if the gain from the bar is a lot, I’ll consider exchanging them.
Thanks a ton!

The ones with the bar across the top usually feature interchangeable lenses.
If you like the lenses that come with your glasses, and don’t care about interchangeability, then in my opinion, this frameless design of your EV Zero is superior, as no matter what’s the style of your riding – be it an mtb, where you would tend to look down, closer to your wheel a lot, or a road bike, where in an aggressive, in-the-drops position your gaze would be near the top of the glasses, neither bottom or top horizontal parts of the frame get in your field of vision.
Some framed designs, like Oakley Sutro, address that somewhat by being taller and extending further up and down, but I can still see top of the frame in my peripheral, when in aero position on a road bike. I loved my EV Zeros, but the lens started flaking off after about 5 years of use and they got harder to find. They were so good, and with no frame, I would forget I even had glasses on.
