matt they say it’s a long ways to prairie but from South Carolina it’s even longer it is even longer Steve about uh by the time I left I suppose you you lose a few hours in the in the in the time change of course but by the time I left to getting back about 24 hours of travel Steve so it was a long old day and a long old tre but but well worth it first of all Matt what is the time difference between over there and here 5 hours Stevie so we’re Are you before or after we’re 5 hours behind over okay so just remind me now yourself and your wife and kids you’re over there just give them a mention yeah so my wife and and my three kids were were we’re over there nearly three years um next month so working for Apple Green great company as we know here in in Ireland and uh enjoying it great and what enticed you to pack up in Ireland and head for the USA uh again as I said I’ve been with that company maybe 10 years at a green and the opportunity just arose and uh we decided look let’s let’s life is short CV you never know what’s going to happen um as we can see with with many friends and family over the years you just don’t know what’s around the corner so we we decided to take the opportunity and uh and off we went no regrets no regrets so far Stevie no no absolutely super isn’t it just to get that opportunity how did the kids settle in fantastic Stevie yeah yeah life was great um kids settled in great new school new surrounding new family new friends of course which is probably the hardest part but all good so they’re they’re they’re enjoying it and no looking back no looking back as of yet Stevie no we we miss Ireland of course we missed our friends family we miss the GA more than anything at all to be honest about it is there any GA in your local over your base unfortunately not CV no plenty of GA throughout the US but just we’re pretty far down south and uh nothing for us unfortunately but we we have the GA or the GA plus now and uh listen I I I watch more GA matches be hurling in football than I think I ever did have you got many Irish living over in your area none in my area would you believe CV again we’re we’re down in the the middle of nowhere really and uh no we’re on our own so that’s uh that’s a big change but you’re not isolated no absolutely not that’s what it is in general now what message would you really give to anybody that’s thinking of doing the same as what you did as I said Steve you know we we we we raised some great money yesterday for for the Dian Cork Foundation and there’s a great example of Steve you just don’t know what’s going to happen life is short and when these opportunities arise I think it’s very important to see another side of the world listen it’s an adventure it’s something we look back on hopefully in 20 30 years and say “Aren’t we delighted we did that?” And uh that’s that’s basically it take if you have the chance take it on what was it like when the parents saw you walking through the door oh sure again fantastic sure they were surprised and and a tear to the eye of course even a big hug and and uh sure looked as great a couple of days here and we’ll we’ll head back again then so you know what you’re great man just to even put in the efforts thanks Stephen just one thing I want to say Steve you know I I I did the easy part yesterday i I I came and I sat in the bike and we we had a great day but the hard work and the effort that went through that’s the big thing michael White Michael Bookie the chairman all the riders see me they done all the hard work for the last couple of weeks and months the people at Clowny the welcome we got when we came back was just unbelievable and as I said the easy job yesterday was was turning the pedals the lads had all the hard work done and I want to say a big thank you and a big well done to everyone for that is there any other special message now Matt when you have the opportunity that you want to get out there now well again I I think we need to bring it back to what we did yesterday Stevie and and the foundation it’s such like you can see what it meant to people yesterday there the people at Cli the people on the bikes everybody around the locality stephen it’s such a vital thing and I hear it so often of oh such and such a person was tested and this was found and that was found if these people weren’t being tested TV color knows what would happen and the message is you know this foundation needs everything they can all the help we can get and and we’re here behind it and hopefully people will will dig deep and and um support support the foundation thanks very much pleasure speaking to you and again safe travels back again to South Carolina thanks
