Hey, i just got this nice 29" Electra Frame for and i basically have all the components to rebuild it. But i am missing these things in the dropout where the axle goes through (2nd pic) what do i have to Google for? And is there anything specific i have to pay close attention to when ordering? Chain tensioner. The axle size (10/14mm) needs to be considered. For you it’ll likely be 10mm.
Those are chain tensioners. To be more specific, axle mounted chain tensioners. There are some frame specific ones for brands like Surly, but any generic one will work. Also make sure they’re for 3/8” or 9mm axles and not oversized 14mm BMX axles.
Chain tensioner tug nuts. Or something like that.
Yeah… nice frame. You’re asking for a dropout chain tensioner. Slap that into google you’ll find a bunch, cheap.
You can setup the bike, the back wheel, without tensioners though. Check out aligning rear wheel on bmx on YouTube or so for a how to…
