Here is the seller’s description: Bike weighs only 20 lbs. 700×23c tires. 24" aluminum frame. 21-speed Shimano RSX derailleurs. Shimano RSX brake calipers. Bike is fully functional, efficient, in excellent condition, and ready to ride.

I’m currently riding a huffy backwater from around 97, I’ve done some maintenance on it, replaced the brake pads and cables, it’s rideable but obviously old and cheap. Would this be a good upgrade?

My usage:
I am commuting by bike most days a week (13 miles round-trip). But I also like to go on longer (30 miles) rides on the weekends sometimes. I’m not a diehard hardcore cyclist, more of a runner who enjoys cycling.

Weather:
The advantage of my Huffy is that it has pretty wide hybrid/gravel tires, so if I’m biking in poor weather (snow), I have that extra traction. It looks like this would definitely have less traction, but I don’t know if that’s actually an issue.

This is a cool bike and the price is low – old GT bikes are cool imo. Obviously this drivetrain is very outdated but it will do a 30 mile just fine.

I would not ride anything in the snow with loss than full mountain bike tyres. It’s very dangerous to turn in the snow/ice with any speed.
