Was rolling along when my tire decided to come off my rim… not sure what happened to cause this, I have hundreds of kms on the wheel/tire combo. Psi was within tolerance, and it wasn’t a flat because the TPU tube popped after the tire came unseated. Terrain was paved pathways that were kinda bumpy but it came loose on a flat section at pretty low speed. Bare rim made a few rotations on/off the pavement. In an effort to stop i locked up the back brake for a second and the rim had a pretty good grind out.

I have submitted this with Hunt’s warranty system so hopefully they can help, but I have a 100km charity ride this coming weekend. Im worried that the integrity of the wheel is compromised in the spot where it was ground down, and that it may not seat a tire properly now… opinions?

New tire time. I’d still use that wheel, as long as there’s no cracks. Carbon is tougher than you might think.
