We walk around Clermont-Ferrand This is the first time in the new
city, Where my daughter-in-law, Gabby lives An aerial view of
the city’s red roofs and a glimpse of the sleeping volcanic mountains that surround it. So what is it? Clermont-Ferrand is nestled in the
heart of the
Auvergne region. it dates back to Roman times when it was known as Augustonemetum. Over the centuries Clermont-Ferrand has
become a dynamic cultural center, mixing its
ancient past with
modern innovation. The history of the Lecoq Garden dates back to the 19th century. Named after the botanist Henry Lcoq, this
botanical garden is a true testimony to the marriage
of art and
nature. It has
since become a popular place for
locals and
tourists to escape the hustle and bustle of
the city and
immerse themselves in an oasis of peace. Do you see the banana trees? From its picturesque architecture to its famous monuments, you can feel the echoes
of the past as you stroll
the streets of
Clermont-Ferrand. The Fontaine Desaix in honor of one of Napoleon’s generals. We thought
this red door was pretty
cool, me in particular. There are small streets that lead to large squares. large places. This is
the Place de la Victoire Fontaine. Rue des Chaussetiers is a street
that holds a very special place in my heart. I love walking through
these little narrow streets. We’re going to come in here to eat. Let’s see what we have. It’s closed. Oh, it’s closed. We
‘re going to go here to this little square and eat at Le Cler Mont. We wanted
to eat in places, places, but
restaurants always close when we want
to eat. Kind of cut potatoes here. It looks pretty
good. Attention. It’s hot. It’s good The tourist center behind the
statue of Pope
Urban II who
called for the crusades. I will
tell you in French. One
of the city ‘s most iconic
monuments is the magnificent Notre Dame de l’Ascension Cathedral . This
inspiring Gothic masterpiece dominates the city skyline with its dark volcanic stone facade, making it a
must-see for any visitor. As you enter, you will be captivated by the innovative stained glass windows, ornate sculptures and the serene atmosphere that envelops you. I’m not Catholic, so
I don’t know much about their
customs and
rituals. Lighting prayer candles is a practice I have adopted. Clermont-Ferrand has many hills, so be prepared to be able to climb some of the steep slopes
on foot . This magnificent building is the prefecture. We are now walking around Place de Jaude. It is full of pretty viewpoints and there are
many places to
go shopping. And it’s a nice place to relax. I’m on the bus on Halloween. Many children are dressed up. I’m going to the cliff. I just got off the bus stop It’s time to walk. A fairly easy walk. Not too high, high enough. He also remains a soloist. It was my last full day in Clermont-Ferrand I decided to go to this climbing site called Ceyat. I
CLIMB SOLO WITH THE ROPE IN LINE. I didn’t climb at my best level, but I had a fun day. We are at the restaurant Le Buronnier. It has a beautiful appearance. Hopefully the food
will be as
good. OK It’s pretty good. And now that we
are leaving Clermont-Ferrand, we are going to take other directions. Keep learning and
having fun.
