After changing cables, the top of the right shifter remained slightly open. It is a cosmetic thing, but I find it very annoying. How can I properly close the rubber on the top of the shifter?
Normally there are notches where the rubber snaps in place. Pull it up and see where they are, then stretch the rubber over it so set it in place.

Quite old design, that.
There is a forward projecting tab on the plastic body. The hood cover should be pulled forward to hook in & then eased back. This is the theory. In practice those hood covers do go a bit baggy.
