This episode sees us cross over into Northern Ireland and move from The Wild Atlantic Way to the Causeway Coastal Route. I was particularly interested to see if there was any real difference between the two countries and didn’t want to be disappointed in the quality of the Guinness! Thankfully it was just as good! Unfortunately, the weather let us down after a brief respite at Malin Head the greyness returned. Nevertheless, we were keen to explore the delights of Northern Island and particularly visit the Dark Hedges. We’re both massive fans of Game of Thrones and as Northern Ireland was used extensively we were eager to see as many locations while we were here. The final stop was the famous Giant’s Causeway, which as the biggest tourist attraction in the North was pretty busy, but all the same, it is a “must see” place. We hope you enjoy this short video and please comment, share and give us a thumbs up – they all make a difference to growing the channel – thanks for watching!

you ever found the best Barman yes you’ve currently found the best Barman in Ireland excellent and there’s the best P of Guinness in Ireland voila brilliant thank [Music] [Music] you we really thought the weather had changed for the better when we arrived at the SE View Tavern blue skies and a warm breeze could it be that the rest of our trip would be in glorious Sunshine uh nope today we’re heading to the Giants caway but first we’re going to catch a ferry so today’s route was going to take us officially into Northern Ireland on the Lil Ferry which takes us from Green Castle to mcgilligan and then we’re going to ride through Port Ro and Port Stewart before taking a detour to check out the dark Hedges and then finally to the Giants Causeway and then on to our accommodation at the Smugglers [Music] [Music] Inn I wrote to you A Simple Text reminiscing about the time when we first met I don’t know what is good enough cuz very little by little you wear me down little by little my actions will be forgiven I wish wish I could be sorry for the things that caus you harm but nothing I can say or do make it come undone so even though I hate the thought of leaving you I hope you come to terms and have it in your heart to end it all you’re better off alone sincerely [Music] sincerely I still haven’t heard anything from you you say love is a fool and so I am I really don’t know if it’s good with perfect timing we arrived just before the F was due to leave little my actions won’t be forgiven I wish I could be sorry for the things that caused you harm but nothing I can say or do make it come UND the lock foil faery connects the inore and Peninsula with the causeway coastal route and takes just about 15 minutes to end it all you better up alone sincerely [Music] [Music] [Music] I wish and so here we were officially in Northern Ireland nothing I visited Northern Ireland regularly in a previous life and I haven’t been back for about 12 years well before I met Bri so I was quite Keen to show him some of the places I’d visited in Years Gone by it really is a beautiful place in spite of its turbulent history just a shame the weather didn’t smile on [Music] us [Music] sincerely [Music] go [Music] [Music] [Music] oh Port Stewart is described as a classy tourist destination with a gorgeous Harbor spectacular Beach Championship ports to at golf club prominade great cafes parks and restaurants however I don’t think we saw it at its best [Music] today [Music] down we saw a sign for a Viewpoint and it was time for leg stretch [Music] [Music] [Music] anyway [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] the village of bush Mills is of course the home of the old Bushmills Distillery which has been around for 400 years and is the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world and I Know It attracts a lot of visitors during the year but not for us sadly we were more interested in pushing on to take a look at the dark Hedges one of the locations for one of our favorite programs which is of course Game of [Music] [Music] Thrones [Music] unfortunately Vehicles aren’t allowed to use the road anymore I suppos for obvious reasons so we had to settle for a quick photograph [Music] and so onwards to our final destination of the day the Giants [Music] Causeway [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so where are we where at the Giants Cold Lake the world’s famous giant famous giant that’s a long time since I been it and wow what a change huge commercial Enterprise man I remember parking in a local car park walking down a hill standing on the stones and that was it and now you go to a visitor center where you pay if you’re not National Trust members what was it about 15 15 15 each and then you wait for a bus or you walk 15 minutes and then you come and climb on the funny shaped Stones yes so there you have it in as Northern Ireland’s most famous tourist attraction you can expect it to be busy pretty much all the time and as such generates a whopping £484 million despite the obvious commercialism the Giants Causeway is a fairly epic site with something like 40,000 or so hexagonally shaped Stepping Stones which date back to a volcanic age almost 60 million years ago and that folks was at J’s Causeway on a damp and blustery day anyway before it starts to really pour down we’re going to head off to our accommodation for the night it is the smuggers in so we see you over check in [Music] [Music] [Music] afternoon folks the good news is it’s not it’s drizzled it’s not pouring down we’ve just been to Giants Causeway and we’ve arrived our destination for today which is smuggers in which I’m first viewing it looks pretty good actually so let’s go before it do start raining let’s go check in our [Music] room wow so first of all wow look at the size of the room spous it’s lovely really spacious double bed single bed more space to dip all our stuff of course just seems to be loads of space and it’s light and bright plenty of Windows pretty good view too be on this oh look at that yes it has good a see view loads of space for all gear and most importantly for Sue at last a tub a tub and shower to soak our bodies and of course being filate Market it’s got its own range of toiletry so what do you think I think it’s lovely really nice it’d be really good to see how the service and the food are as well absolutely but yeah A really lovely room I want to get in the bar yeah soak in a tub and then we’ll check out Guinness o CL later on Guinness O Let’s got to see what this smuggles in has to [Music] offer [Music] ah good man can I be a pint of your finest Guinness please abut you ever found the best Barman yes youve currently found the best Barman in Ireland excellent and there’s the best pint of Guinness in Ireland voila brilliant thank [Applause] you are you going to cheese me SL SL oh that is [Music] good so we’re here now the smugglers in AKA gra hotel and brazer and guess what we’ve gone for the chowder chowder no surprise and it looks pretty impressive does look really yummy I went for the burger classic Burg look pretty good yeah and Irish beef Guinness stew oh and some chips and of course the mandatory bottle of Mal bag oh happy days after a great meal and the best pint of Guinness served by the best bomman in Ireland it was time for [Music] bed this is breakfast at the smuggers in look at that bacon CR on but why not eggs and breakfast with a view love soggy windy view better be great in the summer so if you’re visiting the Giants Causeway would we recommend a stay at the Smugglers Inn [Music] Smuggler Inn more recently known as gray since its Takeover in April this year is a pretty building standing on its own at the junction of the main A2 and the causeway Road it’s a 4-minute ride to the giant Causeway visitors center and would probably take about 15 to 20 minutes to walk it is worth noting if you want to get to the stones and you don’t want to pay for a bus it’s a further 15 to 20 minute sloping walk to the causeway itself if you fancy visiting the bush Mills Distillery dun loose Castle or local Seaside towns like port stal Port Rush all of just a short driveway our room was lovely very large bright and spacious with loads of storage fantastic views over both the Sea and the adjoining Countryside and much to my delight a tub in a good size on Suite the additional single bed is always welcome for holding our ever increasing stuff the Wi-Fi was strong and there was a decent Siz wall-mounted TV and refreshment facilities it’s probably the best on our trip so far I had read some less positive reviews about the service but you have to speak as you find and everyone from reception through bar and restaurant and maintenance were Fab the food was lovely we’d been spalled with flavor on this trip so expectations were high but the menu was good and the food very tasty and Bri was especially positive about the Guinness and the excellent Barman the wind decided to blow hard the night we were at the Smugglers and we were glad of the sheltered secure parking around the back of the hotel the bikes were present and upright when we left the following day this really was a lovely place to stay and we would have no hesitation staying [Music] [Music] again [Music] [Music] of

  1. Super video 📹 guys…its a funny thing in Ireland when you have been enjoying the wildness, scenery and relative tranquility as you ride along, and then dip into a super touristy area!..but there's a ton of fab places to explore away from the crowd, and tourism is pretty vital to the economy of the Emerald Isle! Look forward to seeing the next episode 😊, cheers Steve 👏 🍻

  2. Enjoyed your latest video, as always. Summer 2023 has been most disappointing but you both have the best biking gear. Smugglers Inn would be even better off season, I bet. Looking forward to your final episode in Ireland. Thanks for great entertainment.

  3. Thanks guys love wattour trips , so sorry weather was so poor as Antrim coast is so beautiful in sunshine, looking forward to next one as I live on strangford lough area, hope sun shone as another beautiful place 😁

  4. Some lovely views, pity the weather against you, but that's Ireland. Watching these and other travel vlogs (can't travel far due to personal circumstances), it hits you just how overcrowded England is.

  5. Another classy video, guys! You must spend ages putting this together. You always manage to bung in some nice music so it all flows beautifully.. Many thanks 😊

  6. All the favourable comments obviously means it must be me! The NC500 leaves me cold as well. Give me mainland Europe. However, still enjoy watching the videos and I look forward to the next one. 👍👍👍

  7. Ah, you're in God's country in this excellent video. I'm biased of course, being originally from North Antrim. Living in Scotland these days but I get over to N Ireland regularly on my Honda Transalp.

  8. We completely understand the frustration with the weather. So difficult to film with wind and rain so a great job in the edit.
The giant's causeway looked busy and expensive. We did like the look of that hotel nearby though. Carol fancies staying there and perhaps doing the causeway early.

  9. Hi Both, another brilliant video. Shame the weather was not better for you both. Your top with the tiger on the back was really good and fitting for having a Triumph Tiger my favourite overall animal👍

  10. Braving wind and weather for some wonderful coastal views and lovely scenery along the way. Do fully appreciate the effort on and off road. As always, Brian and Sue, another great production. You are so predictably good!! P.s. checked out the new GS, yes it’s interesting; however, does cost a small ransom. Greetings from Berlin, Jim

  11. Another top class video from you guys great watch and the music you put to your videos is top notch thank you both for making all your viewers feel happy stay safe and keep em rolling ❤

  12. An other great video but I did notice when we were following your bike indicate and brake your instructor is overpowered by the brake light and it’s practically invisible

  13. Another good one guys and what an unexpected treat for my Sunday evening. I'm a regular visitor to the area and never tire of the place or the wonderful people that always make me feel like a dear friend.
Looking forward to the next one. 😊

  15. Great video guys, pity about the weather but that’s Ireland, I’m going to do the wild Atlantic way may 2024 with my son will definitely try the smugglers inn.

  16. Been once, rained all the time (to be expected) and treated like crap by most of the locals, never going back! And yes, we were nothing but curtious to everyone, even the racists!

  17. Another great video guys…..Anybody heading up this way for alternative accommodation in the Bushmills area….Can recommend The Bayview Hotel in Portballintrae. Stayed there many times between 2008 & 2016 when I was working in Bushmills Distillery always got looked after by Trevor and his team who are big supporters of Road Racing in N.I.
