Got this for 40$ from somebody in my city. Was a complete shimano 105, but stole some of the parts off. Replaced the brake levers, shifters, bar tape, front derailleur and stuck that sticker on the headtube not thinking anything of it. I know the tubing is pretty good, but other than that no branding on it whatsoever. The serial number posted on the bottom is M4B16308. Friend of mine thought it may be a miyata, with the miyata 1000 from 86(?) being pretty close but with subtle differences. Will post more pictures if necessary. Would love to know what it could be?

I don’t think that is a Miyata serial number format. Until 1984 their numbers started with a letter then the rest was numbers. After ’84 they started with 2 letters. So this doesn’t match either unless you’re wrong about the B and it’s really an 8. In that case the year would be 1984.

Looks like a centurion to me. Especially with those decals. Could be a nishiki too. Around 1985 is the sweet spot.
If it really was Shimano 105 then it’s a 1987 which doesn’t make sense to me because of the tubing decals.

What about the head tube sticker?

Her’s what many of us observed from this photo here…
1.Pedals are missing on both sides there.
2.Brakes are missing both F/R
3,All the cables are missing like the shifter cables, brake cables there
4.Bicycle seemed to have never been checked out and why would you buy a bike with missing parts?
[5.Bike](https://5.Bike) is a unknown brand but can be a japanese type of bike by the looks of it.

I just bought a Sekai 2700 that was very similar, Champion tubing, same seat stay eyes, same plain lugs. I think the serial numbers might follow that pattern as well. Nice bike!
