Inspired by someone on the FB Grizl & Grail group, and a recent crash where I lost the front wheel during a turn on hard gravel, I've also successfully stuffed 2.2in Continental RaceKing ProTection Black Chili tires into my Grizl AL 6 (Size M).

On the stock DT Swiss Gravel LN wheels (24mm internal width) inflated to ~21psi (1.45 bar), the tires measure out to ~54mm! Compared to the ~51mm my Pirelli Cinturato Gravel M 50mm's measured out to, this wasn't as much of a jump as I feared!

Clearance is tight, but doable. I wouldn't want to run these in muddy conditions, but for everything else I am comfortable with this clearance. Here's to fast rolling, comfy, grippy tires!

PS. Clipping all the little hairs off the sides of my rear tire, and completely off the front tire, was one of the most tedious things I've ever done, but well worth not hearing them buzzing away on my bike.

    Big boys!
Imagine having a leak on the first ride after all that clipping though 😅
