Finally finished up this build after tinkering with it for a week or so and having to swap some parts. Went with SRAM Force AXS group set (Rival crank & pm). Initially wanted to run a 48/35 crankset only to find out the max I could run is 43/30. Paired that with a 10-36 cassette. Got it out on the first ride yesterday and absolutely love it. Being able to ride mixed surfaces, gravel roads and trails is so much fun – opens up so much more riding! Been asking myself, “why did I wait so long to go gravel?!”

The gearing seems to be pretty good although I haven’t done any insane climbs on it yet. The lowest gear is low, but maybe on the real steep stuff I could end up wanting something even lower? Maybe change from 10-36 to a 10-44 🤔 Recommendations?

I’ve been told quite a few times I should just go with a 1 x setup, but with the intention on taking this on some fairly long bike touring rides later this year in Spain and then in Thailand – the 2 x setup seems like the best bet for mostly mixed surfaces.

Build Specs:

Nice bike! Those wheels look super cool. I don’t care what people say, I love a 2X setup on gravel bikes. I end up riding more road than dirt if I don’t drive to the trail head every ride. As long as you have a low enough gear, the 2X won’t be an issue imo.

Do you have UDH? If so transmission with a 48 up front and a 10-52 in the back will give you all the range you need.

I’ve been looking at light carbon. What are your thoughts on the frame and the buying process? Also, what color is that? Thanks!
