My son and I are looking for some good riding spots within a short drive around Newport. We will be there for the week of the 4th and want to take our bikes.
My son races both XC and enduro, and is also proficient on a DJ. And I’m the dad who does his best to keep up, but can ride most trails, albeit much slower.
We’d love to find some jump lines or more enduro style riding, rather than long, flat XC trails. And would also love to find a good spot for the DJ.
Any recommendations would be appreciated!

There’s a ton of options within ~30 min. Aliso woods is my personal favorite trail system, lots of trails with varying levels of difficulty to choose from. And they are all short so you can try multiple trails or do multiple laps. Here’s the ones I’d recommend checking out

    Easier: rock-it

More difficult but not too gnarly: Lynx and 5 oaks

    Gnarliest sanctioned trail: Car wreck

    Have fun!
