Just picked up this old trek dirt cheap, it rides mint. It maybe a little on the small side but looking for advice. It’s 45.5 frame and I’m 177cm.

I’ve just come off a knee injury and needed a bike to get me on the road in the mornings but wanted to eventually do a little rig build into a overnighting set up.

What do you think frame size. If frame size is all g what would you recommend looking out for on marketplace and at recycle centres for to get her up to spec. I’ll probably do some plastic panniers, make a little rig to hold my skateboard and camping gear but as far as forks, should I keep these? Should I look at going to a 1×11 and I would prefer either to go drop bars or put horns on it. Unsure if discs are necessary too? Just want and old trusty, don’t care about speed, like the idea of it being responsive on single track and bush trails and not being noisy.

Any advice greatly appreciated. If frame too small will hold onto it and find something bigger.
