I’ve been looking at a racey gravel bike to use in the UCI gravel series for a while now, and the only bike which is both suitable, not too expensive and available in my size is the Canyon Grail CF SL7 ([https://www.canyon.com/nl-nl/gravelbikes/performance/grail/cf-sl/grail-cf-sl-7/3095.html?dwvar\_3095\_pv\_rahmenfarbe=YE%2FBK](https://www.canyon.com/nl-nl/gravelbikes/performance/grail/cf-sl/grail-cf-sl-7/3095.html?dwvar_3095_pv_rahmenfarbe=YE%2FBK)).
Due to budget and appartment size limits however, having this bike besides my road bike (on which I do smaller, not that high level races ocassionally as well), is not very convenient.
What I was wondering:
Would I miss out in performance if I sell my current road bike (this guy: [https://archiv.cube.eu/en/2016/778100](https://archiv.cube.eu/en/2016/778100)) and keep my good road wheels with 28mm tires on the Grail for road riding/races? The internet and bike company marketing of course want you to believe that the difference is massive, but how big is it actually?
I know that the gearing is different, but as I live in the Netherlands I will change the grail to a 50/34 anyways and keeping the original cranks as a spare.
