Hello Everyone, I am new to the group and don’t know that much. I am hoping to take a year off and bike pack across Europe and maybe Asia. So I was wondering what would be the best bike and kit to get on a reasonable budget. Thanks very much.

In my opinion, surly is a good place to start. Good quality steel bikes basically made for bikepacking around the world.
for some, a reasonable budget will be €200, and for others it will be 5000. You also don’t tell us anything about what kind of riding you like to do. Basically, just give us more information about you, the riding you want to do, the level of comfort you want to have during your trip, etc.
Budget? Preference in luggage style (typical bikepacking setup with frame bag, seat post bag etc. or pannier style bike touring setup)? Preference in bike type (gravel vs. touring)?
Get any bike that fits and use panniers. After a while you will know what you want in a bike and know what to buy next. Panniers are good for their simplicity.
I bought a cheap $300 Chinese bike from a camping store and toured 10000km on it. I’ve since bought a gravel bike and have gone back to panniers after trying several other combos of bags
Start with some googling, then come back and ask again once you’ve decided how much you want to spend on what type of bike and bags. Your question is so vague, it’s impossible to provide a useful answer.
Ortlieb bags
If u have acces to a Decatlon: the Riverside Touring 920 has a lot to offer for a reasonable price (1600 euros). I have it myself and I love it. This is a good revieuw : https://bikepacking.com/bikes/decathlon-riverside-touring-920-review/
