Hello everyone. Just for some background, I have been doing triathlons for ~3 years. I really enjoy it and plan on continuing forever. I am 21 y/o male and decently fit. Ive done 2 sprint tris, 1 olympic tri, 1 half ironman, and another next week. Currently, I have a Trek Speed Concept 2015 TT Bike that I got from facebook marketplace. The condition is great and I have someone offering to purchase it for 3250$ after my triathlon. I don't have a road bike and looking to get one. The only thing is, I am skeptical in selling it.
The title: If I buy the Canyon Endurace CF7 105 mechanical (2500$ USD after tax), I can keep my trek tt bike. However, I plan on using a road bike primarily for training and the TT bike for races. I was wondering though, if you guys think it'd be worth it to sell my TT bike and get the Canyon Aeroad (~4800$ USD) instead to serve as both road/race for triathlons. I know that the TT position is better for triathlons, especially ironmans, but honestly just trying to be as fit as possible – and I would be training regardless of the bike. My logic is that I can be fairly fast with the aeroad during triathlons. Only problem with that is I would have one bike for everything… if something were to happen to the Aeroad I'd lowkey be cooked 💀 thoughts?? Also, I just really like the Aeroad (and for some reason, it just looks more durable than the endurace due its thicker frame).
