Hey, I always use Komoot for planning gravel rides around where I live. Now I am planning a bikepacking route for the first time, and the fact that Komoot lacks the functionality to place custom POIs, so I can see stuff that's coming up on my Garmin (shelters, cafés etc) makes me look towards Ridewithgps, which I hear a lot of good about.
I've now been experimenting with it for a couple of hours, but I really miss Komoot's community highlights, showing fun sections, cool buildings, viewpoints etc. I can't find anything similar in Ridewithgps, but I might just be missing something. Does RWGPS have something similar, or am I bound to use both side by side while planning my route?
Thanks!

We do! It’s somewhat new, and you can learn more about it here: [https://ridewithgps.com/news/11188-community-generated-highlights-are-here](https://ridewithgps.com/news/11188-community-generated-highlights-are-here)
I will also note that while we haven’t said anything yet, 2 days ago we released the Highlights layer on mobile in the planner and in the recording screen. So, you can tap on a highlight in the mobile planner and incorporate into your route, or while recording/navigating you can tap a highlight and quickly generate directions to it.
We don’t have widespread coverage in the EU yet unfortunately, but we are feverishly working with our community there as quickly as possible to add quality highlights as fast as we can.
