I’m looking for a bike for leisure weekend ride(30mins to 1hr on paved trails/city roads). May do a bike trip here and there. Found this Synapse carbon women’s bike 2017 online (seller attached this link: https://www.rei.com/product/108590/cannondale-synapse-carbon-womens-bike-2017) and seller mentioned the bike has about 40hrs of ride time. Seller is asking for $600. Is this a good buy or not?

Sounds like an okayish price, not spectacular for a bike that old, but if it has actually not been ridden much it would be a nice bike to ride.
Having said that, always take “only been ridden for 40hrs” with a pinch of salt, especially on an 8 year old bike, and bear in mind even if true the tyres at least may need replaced, as well as some other small maintenance tasks.
