I was wondering if these components are good in terms of mixing and matching in case something breaks. I am planning a bike tour around the northern part of the East Coast later this summer. The bike has – as you can see – Deore XT derailleurs and also comes with Deore XT canti brakes. Guy wants $150 but the frame is pretty scuffed … so I would like to make sure the components are at least fine. Thanks a lot!
edit: as it seems to be 1991 Trek 930 which originally came with SunTour (correct me if I’m wrong) he must have replaced everything at some point. Is it even friction shifting?

Must have been a nice bike when it was new, those XT components were the cats ass at the time.

Catalogs are all here.

950 model color schemes

1991 was white with black splatter and red decals . 1990 was whote with black decals.
The 950 would not have XT original equipment, that would be found on a 990.
Edit – this post is better suited for r/xbiking or r/vintageMTB as it’s not quite a repair question
