did my first winter bike packing trip in Norway and here are seven things I wish I knew before I started. First, don’t underestimate the weather. When I left home, the sun was shining. No snow at all. I felt like it was just another ride, but just 5 km later, bum, snow. In Norway, the weather can change within minutes. Second, always bring a water filter or you’ll end up like me, drinking yellow water. Third, camp somewhere accessible. This mountain was covered in ice. I could barely get up and if anything had happened, no one could reach me. Fourth, bring extra shoes or better, wear waterproof ones from the start. Five, use nature’s resources like icicles and snow. You always have water and won’t have to worry. Time for a cup of coffee. Six, pitch your tent where trees or bushes block the wind best. In winter, this makes a big difference. Seven, don’t underestimate how scary your first night alone can be. Every little sound freaks you out. Thanks for watching. Watch the full video in the link.
