Hey all,

I just picked up my freshly serviced Brommi from my local junction (thanks btw!) and tried out to fit the folded Burley Travoy trailer inside the biggest bag I could find (Waterproof Borough Bag) which fit perfectly with a huge BUT – sadly it’s blocking my mid Handlebar 🫣

Did anyone figure a way to carry the folded trailer on a Brompton?
While it’s not a huge problem and still a great combo, I’d love to hear your solutions other than unfolding and carrying it empty (my current solution).

Thanks 🙏

(PS.: If any of you have a high handlebar, I would love to hear, if this solves the last missing centimeters 😅)

Interesting idea. Never thought to see if the Burley fits in the borough bag!

For me if I put it in the bag the other way to your photo, then I get more turning angle on my M handlebar. But still wouldn’t be ideal. The bag strap also needs tying up somewhere otherwise it hits the wheel (I have the non waterproof variant).
Maybe if you took the frame out of the bag and strapped the burley to the frame instead you‘d get a bit more room?

But probably overall, the easiest is just to cycle with the burley unfolded. For me at least, I normally want to put something in the bag as well like work laptop etc.

  2. Wouldn’t it be easier to simply tow the trailer normally, whether you are actively using it or not at the time?

I see you have a folding bike lock there… interesting

Anyway, that’s a very interesting idea to put the trailer in the borough bag. I guess if you cycle and turn carefully and early enough that would work.

  4. what is preventing you from pulling the Burley empty? if it is for strolling I believe U can fold Brompton and put it on Burley to pull like a cart

There’s aftermarket seatpost adapters that have a Brompton carrier block. Not sure where to get them but could be a solution to free up the handlebar?

  6. Just strap it on the rear rack lengthwise. Alternatively keep it standing (similar to how folks attach their rucksacks to the brompton along with some bungees)
Edit: third alternativel – get the Eerder metaal seatpost adapter (that has the same Front carrier block)
