Hi YouTubers. So on Sunday I attended the 2025 drum and bass ride out on a route round Birmingham led by DJ Don Whiting. Now the whole thing it’s like a rave on bikes, skates, scooters, whatever, but majority bikes. Okay. So I need to attend this. This is like fantastic. If you’re riding to bikes, this is the place to be. So, I’ve attended this before. A couple of years ago, I’ve been out on it and I had a the most fantastic time. Loads of bikers, loads of people, all shapes, sizes, abilities, pro riders, novice riders, leisure riders. Okay. All riders. Okay. So attended again this year. I was like really really excited and actually I was really excited because I was taking out this little DU electric bike. Now this bike is actually is fantastic for like little short journeys. So I use it kind of like for getting from A to B, not going anywhere in particular, you know, just like kind of close sort of places. Okay. So like when I attended this ride the other year, I took a mountain bike which was fantastic cuz you know with like a mountain bike you can kind of up you know down off the curb across the grass all terrains. But with my DU electric bike as I will show you it’s kind of really small, no suspension. But what goes in his favor actually is that it’s electric. So, it’s going to kind of get me around the route without too much um sort of like strenuousness on myself. Not that I mind that, but just to keep things easy and simple and save my energy, we’re going to use the electric. And that’s what I did. So, the excitement kind of started when you get to the start position. You’re like, the set off time is 2:00. So I said to myself, I literally want to get there just after one cuz I want to see all the bikes coming in cuz you’ve got oh so many different bikes. Like I think every single bike was different. Um so everyone kind of congregates and you’ve got the music going. Um and then so Dom kind of says like you know what we’re going to do, where we going to go. So everyone gets together, we start the ride, everyone’s having a good vibing. Everyone is having the bestest time. So anyway, I start off and I said to myself now cuz I’ve done this before and I kind of I know how packed it can get and I kind of I like chill. I like to kind of just kick back, get in my own head and do me. So I want I want my personal space about me. So anyway, I said to myself and actually I was with my friends and so I said like well we all went to travel together and so I kind of had a plan in my head. So I said my my plan I said you know I’m going to kind of go down here stay stay by an edge anyway we kind of start moving into locations so that we can kind of get down to start this kind of route. Okay. So you’ve got like literally hundreds probably thousand maybe thousands of bikes and we’re all kind of you know trying to get through the road to follow the route. So me and my friends set off. Within 5 seconds, literally 5 seconds, I’d lost them. Do you know what? That don’t matter because I know they’re they’re on the on the ride already. They’ve like kind of got into where they want to be. And so I said, you know what? I’m happy. Let me just kind of, you know, do my thing, my little electric bike, go along. So yeah, I’ll get going. And I’m like really happy. But I’m thinking to myself cuz I haven’t taken this bike on a a really long ride. This is like literally the first ride. So I want to conserve the electric. Even though I’ve literally just um I’ve charged the bike up. It’s got full capacity electric, but cuz I wasn’t sure of myself, I said to myself, let me conserve the electric. So I just put it on like one bar, the the lowest and started the ride. So, you know, going uphill, but you know, the bike’s done really, really well. Now, the good thing about this bike, the handlebars are like slim. They’re kind of really like that. Whereas my mountain bike, I’m like that probably even. Yeah, I’m like that on it. But this little electric bike, this is the good thing about this bike actually, and this is actually why I wanted to take this one on because it’s so um small and the handlebars. What I’m hoping is I can kind of wind in and out of everybody. So, that was my intention. And I’m thinking, okay, this bike is great. I’ll clip a lamp post. That’s one of the first things I do. Anyway, never mind that. I got back to it. That that wasn’t even a problem. That was at the beginning, but that was not even a problem. So, anyway, I get going again and I’m going down and, you know, I’m enjoying the ride. And actually I got lucky because all the way around. So you’ve got the whole actual you’ve got all the speakers. Dom’s at the front leading it. You got loads of bikes here. I’m kind of here probably in the middle and then load at the back. So in the middle I got lucky. There was someone that had his speaker cuz the speakers are all connected up to Dom’s at the front. Okay. So I was in a cool little place. I had space around me and I had the speaker. So I had the best of both worlds. So yeah. Um just continue. I’m just conserving me. I’m just I’m just vibing. We’re having a great time. So anyway, yeah, just following it around. Did the whole route. There wasn’t no there was no off-roading to be done. So I didn’t have to do any crazy cuts across or anything. Um yeah, just enjoyed it. See loads of different bikes, different people, everyone out having fun. Just had an absolutely amazing time. So yeah, get back complete the circuit and I’ve got to say I’ll give my bike a pat on the back. It done brilliantly. I had absolutely loads of electric left over. I think it was only three miles perhaps, but I had loads of electric left over. So sit back and enjoy a minute or so of me on my bike going around the route.
