I’m a 28 year old dude. I’m reasonably fit, and race road bikes as well.

I have had some neck issues in my 4 years of cycling. I think I’m lacking some flexibility and core strength. I just got a bike fit on my cyclocross bike, and they flipped my stem up. So I have a chimney stack of spacers, and an upwards stem.

Even after that, I still have some minor neck pain after riding the last two days.

My commute is about 11-14 KM each way, on roads, a bit of gravel, and a multi use path. I take a slightly different route each time.

I wear clip in shoes, and got a Deuter Velo backpack to be easier on my neck. I pack very light.

My bike has this exact geometry.

Is this a suitable commuter bike? Should I try to sell it and buy a “gravel” bike that’s a little more upright?

And if not, does anyone have good advice on how to train up my body to not get a sore neck?
