Yikes! Hopefully it’s a speedy recovery! Ride up until the crash looked epic

Good to hear you’re sorta ok. What happened? It’s a little hard to tell from the video.

Ouch. What do you think happened? Too fast? I can’t tell if this is a race or just riding along. I hope you heal well.

Dislocated my right thumb a month ago. Still sprained and I’ve been bored as hell for a while.

Rest. Travel the distance for a high quality hand surgeon. Get a referral to a hand/wrist specialized occupational therapist. Sorry man, that sucks

Dude, I swear that exact jump at Valley always bucks me. Looks like that’s what happened to you. Heal up!

Fuck that sucks. I just got back to riding after a dual ACL/meniscus repair. It’s been 7mo since the injury and I got cleared abnormally quickly; it’s usually another 2-3 months.

Not saying it doesn’t suck but it could be worse..

  7. Wow, to be honest it seems like you’re kinda lucky that’s all that broke – so you have that going for you which is nice.

I fractured my fifth metatarsal on theoutside my left hand – along with a grade 1 tear of my shoulder AC joint on my right arm on the same fall which was brutal for both arms to need recovery.

To focus on the hand/metatarsal fracture – just follow the Dr’s orders, not all fractures are the same and you broke three. Bones tend to heal up really well if you let them. Follow all the recovery exercises and search some hand recovery videos on YouTube on top of that when Dr says you’re clear for them. Pick up one of those hand strengthening kits for under $10 on Amazon that has the little pressure rings, finger pull / resistance, and squeeze eggs, so worth it and was great for recovery. I still use it when sitting around for hand strengthening.

I was off the MTB for a little over 6 weeks, and I could ride on my trainer after ~3 weeks. I took it easy for a while, planning shorter rides so when hand pump/discomfort came on I could end it if necessary. Pre-ride Ibuprofen was helpful for the first handful (no pun intended) of rides.

Sucks to happen going into park season, but it’s well worth healing up. It’s been about 16 months since my broken hand and honestly I rarely ever notice any pain or discomfort in general, and very rarely when riding outside of normal hand pump.
