It’s right where the disc brake puts the most torque on the fork blade. I’d have to be inclined to treat it as such unless I could prove it was just the paint.

That is unsafe and needs to be replaced or warantied. Once you have a crack started like that the chances of it spreading catastrophically are pretty high. I’d imagine it’s also bent if it got stressed to the point it cracked. Or it’s a sign of some kind of metallurgical defect.

yup, plain as day. Looks like it’s kinda right where the weld is for the dropout to join the fork legs.

If warranty is out of the question sand/file it down to see how deep it goes

Most people just wait until their chin hits the pavement, then you know for sure that it was a crack.

Can’t tell from the picture. Is the darkest part something that you can stick your fingernail into or is it just a shadow from a paint gouge?

  7. Scrape away the paint and see how it looks. I’d be surprised if it was a crack: these All-City forks are heavy as fuck and I’d be surprised if a crack formed here.

Obligatory pasting from the side bar of the sub:

    >Is this cracked / safe to ride?” – If you have to ask, don’t ride it. We probably can’t tell from a picture just what condition your bike is in. Take it to your Local Bike Shop and ask them.

Also, what the hell is all that pitting on the inside of the fork? Or, is that water or something?
