Comparing Crankbrothers Egg Beater 3 (red) to Egg Beater 11 (gold). Has anyone else noticed this amount of play in the pedal “wings”? The Egg Beater 11s in this video are fairly new!
Crankbros – Is this normal?

What do you think? 😂
Is there an adjustment screw? SPD pedals can have the tension adjusted
Should be a tension screw/pin no?
Just checked my egg beaters 11. They do the same thing. Mine are well used!
Crank bros stuff falling to bits is pretty normal yes
I’ve got Mallet downhills on my gravelbike and one of them is doing the same thing, the non-drive-side is still fine
Had some suspicion that noise was coming from them, initially turned out to be a loosened T47 but even after the fix I could swear that there’s still something going on
I’m not aware of a screw to tighten the whole thing up, especially not that much. The screw on the outside of the pedal can do a little bit of work but you’ll notice the pedal no longer free spinning before you’ve got the rattle eliminated.
Tried looking for the spindle/spring thing but it doesn’t seem like that part in particular is available as a spare, was going to contact customer support about it if it keeps going
Not normal. I can’t believe crankbros is still a thing. Shit breaks so easy, run shimano dood.
From my experience I can say that my crank brothers candy 2 pedals have held up quite well
Crankbros failure mode is incredibly bad. Switch to Candy pedals if you want a platform to stand on when the retention mech fails catastrophically.
