New to this sub and biking so give me some slack 😂
Currently looking around for a new bike and I've found these two options so far within my area.
Looking for a road bike or something I could use in a race when I eventually get into shape.
The Scott s40 is priced at $200 and The cervelo is priced at $400. The cervelo also comes with a second set of rims and tires.
Both are similar sized and should fit me just fine. (both medium frames)
I am wondering if the Cervelo is worth spending an extra $200 on?
I could pick up the cervelo probably today, but the person selling the Scott is out of town until Thursday.
Really would love some input as my budget is around $300, but if the Cervelo is worth the extra $100 I could probably justify it. I just don't want to spend more for a bike that wouldn't be an increase in quality.
Thanks so much guys!

Those are bikes from two entirely different disciplines.
Unless you’re absolutely certain that you’ll be racing Triathlons or Time Trials, the Scott is by far the better choice, and very reasonably priced for that matter.
The Scott is the better choice imo. It’s more comfortable and practical. Id say spend the money on that, and when you feel like you’re committed to the hobby long term, get yourself a nicer bike.
